The brickies gave me a good chuckle. When I was leaving and said good bye to them. The one pipes up "oh by the way, we drink Corona". I burst out laughing and said "noted, thanks". What a crack up. Looks like they're flying through it already. I swear tradies are powered by iced coffee and beer. Coffee to wind them up in the morning, and beer to wind back down in the afternoon hahaha Re: Our Build with Easystart Homes - Annies Landing 106Mar 24, 2016 11:37 am MattandErin Looking good ChantalMaree - how many guys are working in your bricks? Coffee to wind them up in the morning, and beer to wind back down in the afternoon hahaha There are 4 brickies on this team. The site supervisor reckons they'll be finished with brick works in 2 weeks all up. So in about a week from now it'll be done I totally agree with you! Congrats on your brickworks. We have currently engaged EasyStart, we just had our PreStart last week and am waiting to receive my revised drawings to sign off. I hope that we don't encounter some of the problems that you have. Although after reading a few other posts it seems common with all builder in some way, shape or form. Good luck on the next few weeks, I will be following you build for sure. Re: Our Build with Easystart Homes - Annies Landing 108Mar 25, 2016 6:46 pm boma91 Looking good ChantelMaree! We all have our fair share of issues. After I had a meeting with the GM of Summit it was smooth sailing. We were all on the same page and I was calm. I'm enjoying the process now as well. What's your blog link. Re: Our Build with Easystart Homes - Annies Landing 111Apr 02, 2016 9:57 am Hi All, Sorry I've been quiet but apart from finishing my studies I've been job hunting too! I was made redundant I'm a strong believer that everything happens for a reason. So while its crap to be jobless it means I get to focus on my studies and my passion for photography. I've had a really great response from friends and family on FB. So it's been great. So back to our build: we dropped off the brickies carton of Corona last Thursday. They seemed really happy with that I popped in yesterday so see progress because they were just finished on the external wall last week. They have now finished all internal wall. It's coming along well. Re: Our Build with Easystart Homes - Annies Landing 113Apr 06, 2016 9:17 pm Your home is looking amaaaazing! Cannot believe how quickly it is coming up! How long has your brick work taken from start to present? Gosh, you have 4 brickies and we are only getting one - I don't really understand how they contract their tradies to each building project?? LOL! Oh well, maybe he's got superhuman strength and speed Whats the next step once your walls are done? So for all brickwork external and internal it took them exactly 2 weeks. That's including the Easter weekend. I was really impressed with their work and the speed at which they did it. I got a notification today saying the render was complete too. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So the next thing is site clean and then roof frame etc. I think their might be a high demand for brickies in your estate at the moment maybe that's why you've been assigned a one man band. But it's a good thing. It just means more time for your slab to cure with less weight on it and no rushing either. There is a positive to that for sure Our Easystart Build in Annie's Landing https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81061&p=1478674#p1478674 Re: Our Build with Easystart Homes - Annies Landing 115Apr 13, 2016 6:34 pm ChantalMaree Thanks Tam! Wowser, render is finished too!! Well done! Yes Im not perturbed about it taking a couple weeks longer - we aren't in any rush... It certainly is exciting when you start to see the brickwork go up!!! The render and pier look good, what colour will the render be painted? Our bricks started today! It's all becoming a reality now Our Build with Easystart Homes - Annies Landing 118Apr 26, 2016 1:51 am Hey Guys, I know I've been sucky at keeping everyone up to date AND keeping up with your progress too. When I was at work it was ritual to log into Homeone as if it were my email or Facebook. Lol. Now I'm at home with the kids/studying/doing my photography so I'm actually keeping really busy. We drove up today to have a look at progress. It seems the roof guys only work on the weekends. They were there last weekend, no action during the week and then they were there this weekend again. So I took time to walk through and really look at things. I'm starting to pick up little things. I've emailed my site supervisor just to clarify on them. Other than that it all looks really good. This is bed 3, it seems the slab wasn't measured correctly. See the dip in the floor.... Then the wall dividing the lounge and garage has a gap same size. It's not just at the door but along the whole wall.
