Are you happy with everything so far? Yea we can hardly believe what has happened in the last couple of weeks. Seemed like nothing and then heaps. We had a couple of hiccups, but our Site Supervisor has been awesome. Fixed up all issues we identified within days. Thats the most important thing, Mistakes happen it just depends on how they deal with it. Great to hear your happy with everything so far. _________________________ Building the Noosa 26 with Coral Homes https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80794 Re: Coral Homes - Longreach 33 - Clarence Town 47May 08, 2016 9:06 am Our roof got installed this week so we visited the site yesterday to inspect check it out and discovered a hell of a lot of other work we weren't expecting yet!! I'll summarise: -Solar panels for hot water installed -Insulation delivered -Air con ducting installed along with main internal unit -Phone cable pulled through -Some water pipes laid out in the roof... Oh and the roof did go on too. Whew. We were really impressed and amazed. It's actually starting to look like a house. We received the invoice for the frame progress payment and you get 7 days (including weekends) to pay. We sent it to the bank same day, but the bank does their own inspection. Bank didn't read the contract terms properly and were going to withhold because the windows weren't in. (They didn't advise or contact us about this and it's not even included in the frame stage ) long story short - We got onto the bank, explained the problem and they authorised payment. (The inspection was done before the Windows were in, so we told them they had since been installed and they approved it) Coral will charge interest if payments are not made on time. If payment is not received within 7 days of the initial invoice, you get an overdue notice with 5 business days to make payment or interest is charged. This was a close one because we didn't ride the bank. 2) We were advised that there is a shortage of bricklayers in our area. Our Site Super is working to locate more and in the meantime they are working on other parts of the build. Not sure if the shortage is all Newcastle area, or if they just don't want to travel up to us. Watch this space... Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13781 In Qld it is a requirement that a builder must have a cost breakdown, for building a home to the same specification, with the same inclusions and the same finish. So ask… 1 4354 Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74716 |
