Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jul 18, 2008 1:43 pm Hi all, its been a while since we last posted. the house is in good shape, but so far we have not taken any photos worthwhile showing. Still very messy in inside, and muddy outside....
OK, the builder has fixed a few things to our satisfaction: -add broom-space in the laundry cupboard -put the fence in the alfresco areas (additional cost) -put the silicon to the edge of the spabath -fix a leaking underground rainpipe (no wonder my watertank got no water!!!). -connect the pump in the spa!! -fix the telephone lines (no dial tones before) -put the weather stripper for internal garage door -link the telephone to the security/alarm -exchange the central vacuum to a better spec (although still not our brand and less warranty, but have similar suction capability) -faulty drawer runners have not been fixed!!!! but this is not joiner or builder fault, but the haffeler agent who need to import the parts from GERMANY!! We spent -$700 for additional electrical works after the handover (3 sensors, wired bell, 2 external wall light, 5 ceiling speakers, 2 double pp) -$1200 for erecting a mesh fence. Only then we got the certificate of occupancy -pay $5.50 for eac pittosporum green pillar (we got about 40-60?) -still more to come Please someone help me. I have a few questions -Why the edge of the slab (in the ensuite) seems to be wet, while the slab in its surrouding is dry. Wet as the cement seems to be darker and you can see that it is wet, compare to the "dry" whitish slab. Is this normal?? -the spa bath has 6 jets, but the strong current only come from one jet (the middle one). The other jets only give a very soft pressure. Is this normal? thanks. Re: Update and possible problems 4Jul 22, 2008 2:57 pm regarding the wet slab, may be check for a leak somewhere? Do you have a photo? If it's from somewhere underground then you could have a bigger problem...
If it still remain wet for a few days, may be you shold report to the builder for further investigation as that could cause major damage to whatever floor covering you going to use. yes it is possible but watch for noise transmission, decouple as best you can. Maybe wider top and bottom plates with 70mm studs to allow the cabinet to be recessed fully 1 6633 You can wash over existing pavers with 10% solution of water and hydrochloric acid, then wash off. The acid will provide for required bond key with new concrete. 1 36949 0 9797 |
