A Simonds home in our estate had their whole kitchen ripped out! Omg! That's is terrible. It is difficult to make confirmed arrangement when we do not have a definite date for handover. Our PCI was ok. Mostly are mortar gaps filling, paint touch ups. Only 2 major things - the unevenness of the concrete floor is visible when the garage door closes. The other which the CM said not to include in the list as the council might take their time to response - there was hole made on the cross over when the driveway was put it. The problem is he is a new Construction Manager and he cannot confirmed that it is their concreter's fault. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Built on a corner block in Melbourne. Moved in pics 587Dec 04, 2016 3:31 pm Love the area and our location, as we are on a corner block we only have one neighbour and their Mcmansion is still being built, will probably be another 6 months at least before they move in, but have met them and they seem nice people. Neighbours over our back fence, because of the height of the fences havent seen them. We have no neighbours opposite us. We received some devastating news this week regarding my stepdaughter so i am grateful that we are settled here now so we can focus on the coming weeks and /or months to get through it. But we did finish our front garden yesterday, so until corner fencing is done, everything is completed at the front, just need to wait now for plants to grow. Will start on plants for rear garden next year, just happy all of the front is done and our place is looking established. Sad to hear you got bad news so close to Xmas, at least with the stress of building over you can focus on giving her the support she needs. Re: Built on a corner block in Melbourne. Moved in pics 590Dec 04, 2016 8:51 pm Thanks guys, much appreciated, we're hanging in there. Yes very happy with the lawn, it had its first mow at the weekend and it feels so thick under the feet, really spongey to walk on. So glad we listened to the landscaper and went with sir walter buffalo. Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81011 Re: Built on a corner block in Melbourne. We suspected its veneer - cracked and peeled. Door is suppose to be solid hardwood. Re: Built on a corner block in Melbourne. Going okay at the moment, looking forward to a nice family xmas and creating beautiful memories. We have had an issue with our front door too, they are paper thin! Moved in pics 596Jan 07, 2017 2:03 pm Bought a couple of gardening bits and pieces today as well as a rosemary and herbs as we want to try clean eating this year with no processed foods. Also thinking options for window next to front door, i didnt want frosted glass there as i want to be able to see who is at front door, so thinking maybe custom made timber venetian probably the only thing that would work. Will go and see if dollar curtains can do that as they are in Pakky. I am hoping they will put Spotlight in the Masters building there! There were also cracks and chips along the edges between slab and brick wall. I rang the builder and them about the crack and discolouration. Seems to me they are just pulling a fast one - "its normal"! To me it is poor workmanship or poor quality. A 2 month old coloured concrete should not have such problems . I cannot imagine in months or years to come. wondering anyone built with omaxe homes and care to share their experiences. thanks 0 8862 i did click it, still couldnt make it out rofl. in any case, doesnt look like too extreme a slope, you may be in luck.
