Looks like a really nice location too. I grew up in Albany and although i was never too keen on Denmark town, the area around Denmark is really quite beautiful. I look forward to following your build progress Building SOR with Dreamstart Homes Customised Dream Dior/Summer Sensation https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83776 Re: Great southern 2.5 acre new family home 42Aug 03, 2016 10:21 am Hi there, thought I'd follow your build, it looks awesome, and a slab now yay You commented on the thread I started a couple of weeks back, we too are going with a mix of claddings, I'm happy with it and I think it looks modern and a bit different from having brick. Your exterior colours are actually fairly similar to what I've picked and we are trying to get a bit of a timber look going on on some exterior walls by using woodstain on axon cladding, a bit of an experiment really as the builders haven't done it before but its advertised as an option on the scyon axon website so hoping that turns out well. Cant wait to see more pics as you progress, happy home building Re: Great southern 2.5 acre new family home 44Aug 08, 2016 11:26 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Today's update is that the retaining wall has been finished with the cavity filled up with concrete this afternoon... We have drainage in and this afternoon some sort of scaffolding was being put up. I believe that our subfloor was also delivered today On another note my builder had a run in with a not so nice neighbour of mine which I'm not pleased about. Due to the very wet weather we've had this winter a lot of our land at the top is boggy... We also get a few neighbours run off go through the front end of our block also so at times it's like walking through snow that's turned into dirty slush... If anyone knows what I mean it's been very difficult for the diggers and concrete trucks to get access without difficulty so my builder has placed some white sand at an entry point to make it a little easier and it has worked for the most part... The downside to this is that the road has got a little muddy and there is a bit of extra sand on it. My neighbour who I have not met yet visited my site on Friday to voice her concerns which my builder informed her that they will work on cleaning up the road today after the concrete truck has been and gone. My neighbour today who couldn't seem to wait for the truck to leave and demanded my builder to clean up the mess on the road straight away and then also accused him and his tradies of running over a duck on my street and then left the build site threatening my builder that she will blast it over the internet I am very cross about this Re: Great southern 2.5 acre new family home 45Aug 08, 2016 11:58 pm Sounds like your neighbour is a keyboard warrior...lol Why can't people be nice....hey! We are building a house and it is raining..what do you expect! Re: Great southern 2.5 acre new family home 46Aug 12, 2016 10:18 pm There is progress it has been a very wet week here in Denmark so we had a slight delay with starting the framing but it is all guns blazing now. Framing and subfloor should be finished this Thursday and then I will be able to picture the actual size of our home heheh I have to admit I haven't been this excited since starting this process. Oh and before I post the pics I have had neighbours complain to council that I have cut too many trees down.. I met council who laughed when realised nothing really has been cut down at all and went back to the office... Great warm welcome from certain neighbours...
