How are cables concealed when wall mounting a TV? I was under the assumption that internal wall ducting was used (not sure where I got this idea).
We are about to build a new home. I asked the builder to quote on installing some internal wall ducting for AV/HDMI and power cables so that the cables enter the wall cavity at roughly floor level then pop out of a hole behind the TV a little bit further up the wall. The builder came back and said 32mm conduit was the biggest they could do, but that nowhere near wide enough to fit a few cables in.
So how is it done? I know you can get plastic panels/plates that you screw in where the hole in the wall is made to make it look nice and neat, but is there plastic ducting or conduit made for this kind of job or are the cables just fed in behind the gyprock as is?
I hope this all makes sense.
Many thanks.
