A quick question about your alfresco, did you have to put in a drain grid???? Sorry not sure if it is called that! along the edge in case of flooding because there is no drop down & do you mind if I ask if it was much extra ? Thanks heaps Stilettos & Bricks -our Building Journey Blog https://stilettosbricks.com viewtopic.php?f=31&t=85183&hilit=secret+harbour Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 803Sep 17, 2016 11:32 pm There was no discussion about drainage around the alfresco, but I did think about it. I'm assuming you are talking about something similar to this. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ . Fortunately with the tiling, they have done the edges, so we can either butt up level, or drop down slightly. Still deciding on backyard landscaping. Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 809Sep 18, 2016 9:55 am You're on to winner with that Spuddles - I remember building first time round, and even it was suggested this time I think - different colours for the kitchen, ensuite, bathroom... I was like no!! Same throughout and add details through the styling. If I've learnt one thing from the block, you've got to have consistency Shaynna Blaze eat your heart out Our Custom Dale Alcock build in the Village at Wellard https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=78620 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 810Sep 18, 2016 12:21 pm I've always believed in carrying the same colour scheme throughout. I could never understand why people chose so many different colours in laminates etc when they build houses. My mum built in late July '80s and had blue in the master suite & then beige in the rest of the house. I thought it looked crappy. My sister built early '90s and did multi blue in the bathroom & then sage green/terracotta in the kitchen. When asked why they did that the reply was 'cos they wanted different colours. My bf's house is the same - black in the kitchen, blue & white in the main bathroom & terracotta with green in the ensuite. Eeeek! When i finally built my 1st house, i took pains to make sure that the colours of my house flowed thru the house from front garden to back garden & am doing the same again with my new house.
