OMG I need to rob a bank AND sell a kidney (or the kids....yeah, that's it, sell the kids) viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 25Dec 03, 2015 2:56 pm Getting a lot of things priced. At least the front door handle upgrade was less than $300. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 26Dec 03, 2015 3:05 pm What was recommended to me was get everything priced. We did that, and just took things off to bring the cost down to an amount we were happy with Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 27Dec 03, 2015 4:55 pm Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ it's got chicken pox viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 28Dec 03, 2015 7:36 pm I see you let the kids scribble on your plan Posting to follow, plan looks great. Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 30Dec 03, 2015 8:27 pm I don't want to talk about it. Lol I'll do a write up later tonight. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 32Dec 03, 2015 8:54 pm Wondering if anyone has gotten a quote from an outside company, and then gone back to the builder to see if they match that quote?? viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 33Dec 03, 2015 8:56 pm We were going to do that but like our builders design now it's like none we have seen Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 34Dec 03, 2015 8:58 pm With some of the costs they were coming up with ie. Splashbacks, I'm certain they were just pulling sums out of thin air. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 35Dec 03, 2015 8:59 pm spuddles76 Wondering if anyone has gotten a quote from an outside company, and then gone back to the builder to see if they match that quote?? We did with our splashbacks and they wouldn't budge. Even though it was the same company they use Oh well $2.5k cheaper to do it ourselves. Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 36Dec 03, 2015 9:22 pm OMG I'm so getting quotes now. Thank you kellie_87. They also quoted 'about $5500' to upgrade the garage door.(from a textured look to smooth. Unbelievable. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 37Dec 03, 2015 11:05 pm I had quotes from two builders and compared the pricing of things and challenged the builder with pricing and had pricing reduced on some things. Other things we said we liked the upgrade but it was to expensive to include, to their credit they came back with a reduced price and we ended up including it. Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 38Dec 03, 2015 11:10 pm They gotta make their money hahaha with a 60 to 70% increase on top. Some of their prices are absolutely ridiculous and as you said pulled out of thin air! Never a lot of consistency with them. Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 39Dec 03, 2015 11:53 pm We got there at 930, and started pretty much straight away. Lana was our pre start consultant. Our brief was to pick everything as close the display as possible. Tile and laminate selection Tiles were very easy to chose. One floor tile throughout whole home (except bedrooms and theatre). 450x450. Think it was called dark brown, but it was a light mocha colour (standard range). wall tiles are a bright white, to be used throughout (ensuite, bathroom and powder room floor to ceiling) Island bench is essastone (careera with waterfall edges[got that for free when we were doing variations]) getting quotes for essastone on stove and scullery benches. Laminate on bathroom, ensuite, powder room and laundry benches are similar to careera in colour. All cupboards are a gloss white (throughout whole home) yes I know we could of gone all different colours everywhere, but the wifey said to do it this way, and we can jazz up areas later with ornaments/rugs etc. Outside We thought it was fully rendered, but it is only the front. Getting quote for whole house. Front is three tone (third colour cost us about $150) Standard guttering, fascia and down pipes, with roof, all in wallaroo. As the wifey wanted the scullery as displayed (we did ask for this at variations, but all they did was put in extra cupboards) we are having to send the plans back to the structural engineer (quoted by sales rep-$300, quoted by Lana-$700) just to take out four short walls throughout kitchen/scullery and change it to laminate boards. Sounds silly, but the display looks awesome. Asked about splashbacks, have picked one, and getting quoted. I'll get quotes from others while I'm waiting. Cupboard handles.....we didn't want any, at all. Quoted $79 PER OPENING to change them to recessed finger edge. So, looked through their options on the showroom floor...found a lovely one, $90 something each handle.... FFS!!!!! ( might just say to them I don't want any handles at all, then add push to open latches to everything). viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 Re: SLIGHTLY WARPED Southport HGWA Madora Bay WA 40Dec 04, 2015 12:04 am Heaps and heaps of other items that we are getting quotes for, but I did manage to get all the powerpoints, lights and conduit in I wanted. Wifey added star lights to entry alcove and dressing room. We did have a win or two. Upgraded bath in bathroom, and wax only charged $16!!!! Also, baths in bathroom and ensuite, put spout from wall under the Windows, and mixer tap to head of baths (to the side so you turn water on without bending over) for NO CHARGE!!! Wife cannot see why I wanted to do that, but she'll work it out later. I'm not sure how much everything is going to cost us from today's pre start, but i'm guessing, with all upgrades, it came to at least $30k..... viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80963&start=10#p1475600 It's hard to comment as the photos area bit dark ( you might need a new 15 - just got one and wow ) Jokes aside, I can see one member that is cracked.
