Re: Coral Homes - Termite System 2Nov 20, 2015 1:42 pm Coral uses a visual barrier. There is no termimesh or anything like that. This is what it should look like: Note the strip of concrete between the dirt and bricks. This is a visual barrier. You should have a barrier on the alfresco, but it can be hard to see. They also placed some mesh between the first and second layer of bricks on the front of my house near the garage and front door as there is no visual barrier there. You should get a termite certificate before you move in to state the house has been termite certified. But you can always raise it with your SS now. Oh thanks, thought the concrete was just the slab, didnt know this counted as a barrier. On our Garage side that is built to boundry they put in a sheet between the concrete and bricks, cannot see anything done for the front porch or alfresco, what should it look like there? Re: Coral Homes - Termite System 4Nov 20, 2015 6:46 pm Depends on your facade. I have bricks on mine, so there is a visual barrier, but otherwise there would be a mesh barrier This thread has some pic examples viewtopic.php?p=1038953#p1038953 Once the bricks go up, you need to look for little bits of the barrier hanging out of the grout, but it can be hard to see. It is only a visual barrier though, it isnt a treatment. Getting a termite treatment on the 1st 2 courses of bricks would help. Our SS said one of his customers had termites within 3 months and she only saw due to the barrier system. Yes, neither is termite damage that is not covered by your house insurance. 3 6581 4 1867 Ask the council if there is a chance of getting build over easement exemption. Sometimes easements are unused and 24cm is not all that much. Good luck. And yes any builder… 2 13771 |
