Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 17, 2015 11:02 am Hi everyone, Plantation are almost ready to commence construction on our home, we chose the Sahara Belle Q2 with the standard Miller Facade, the only thing we have found is that we have only ever seen drawings on paper of our facade as they do not have a completed photo they can show us which is a little frustrating as it's hard to imagine what it will look like! Has anyone here built using the Miller facade and if so have you got a photo you could share with me so I can see the finished product? I understand some of you may have made changes such as rendering but I'd still like to see one to get an idea. We are also considering changing it to a facade that includes a balcony, Plantation are saying it will be costly and cause delays to make changes due to having to get council approvals all over again, we understand that but it's going to be somewhere we are going to live in for a long time and will accept the delays, our home will also be facing a lake front in Warner Lakes here in Brisbane and I'm sorry we didn't think of it sooner, we were just trying to be careful with the budget but family have convinced us it's a bad idea to NOT have a balcony! We have already been told the one we like does not come with the Sahara Belle Q2 (Indigo) so I've asked them to give me a list of which ones we CAN actually have and their prices. My next question is, would adding a balcony later on be possible or is this just something that doesn't occur? Thank for your help Re: Plantation Homes - Miller Facade and Balconies! 2Nov 24, 2015 10:47 am Best bet would be to ask your builder if anyone around the area chose this Facade and do a drive past to see how it looks. Are you building in Warner Lakes or Warner Lakes the reserve? We are building in the reserve part which comes under Covenant who are very picky with front facades on what you can and cant have Re: Plantation Homes - Miller Facade and Balconies! 3Nov 25, 2015 4:04 pm Hi ya Jozh, sorry just saw your reply, thank you! I must turn on the notifications for this post as I am not getting them Yes, we are building in Warner Lakes the Reserve, on Comet Circuit right in front of the lake, we have stuck with our original facade the Miller and all covenant requirements were approved today so we are all good to go. We did look at changing it to Lancaster which has a balcony but all council and covenant approvals would have had to be re submitted which could have taken up to another 4 weeks, pus there were admin costs for changing it PLUS it was going to reduce the size of our house by 1.19 metres so we decided against it. The balcony feature is off the master bedroom and my husband and I had a talk about it and realised we probably wouldn't use it that much and we didn't have a spare $20k laying around to change it to either lol Looking to tile the facade pillars rather than rendering. Builder is quoting 2500$ laying cost for upto 10msq. The 2 pillars come to be 16msq. So laying costs are 5000$… 0 7554 Dear Members I have to decide the Facade column size. My custom builder standard is 350mm with rendering, but i asked for 470mm plus stone or tiles and yet to get… 0 7508 traditional gable roof facade - Have you did the dark and light gray color combination in facade with gray stone in facade… 0 4224 |
