Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 12, 2015 8:18 pm Hi All, Our neighbour's gate has been fixed to our garage brick wall, which is on the boundary. We also found the our side fence (shared with neighbour) has been fixed to our garage brick wall. The brick layer is still out on site working on our house and raised the issue that wind, ground and gate movement could put pressure on the bricks and cause damage. His opinion was that it should only be attached to a post and not to the house. I've raised the issue with the fencer and he says that he has never done it any other way. Just wondering if anyone knows! Re: Fencing attached to brick wall? 2Nov 12, 2015 8:41 pm Fencer is an amateur. I have a fence that is in between two boundary walls and both ends have posts. Re: Fencing attached to brick wall? 3Nov 15, 2015 1:14 pm When I get my fence installed I will also be asking for a post for both side gates. I don't really want anything drilled into my brickwork to be honest. I would have wanted permission for someone to go drilling and attaching things to my house, on boundary or not - that is just rude. If they want a gate that goes to boundary then they can have a post on the boundary for their gate. ~Shellby~ GJ Bridgewater 203 11/3/2016 - Site Work Started 29/9/2016 - Handover 142 Work Days 6 Work Days Over https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=80174 Hi, I'll be starting on my verandah repair soon - replace ledger, rafters, roofing iron, flashing etc. (fascia board already done).
