Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Village Square Edmondson Park Stage 16 670Jan 05, 2017 12:51 pm I contacted Casaview just before Christmas and was told that even know i have been waiting since August to get drawings i would have to wait till February. 6months to just get drawings is a joke to me. I have paid all deposits and signed contract too. Not very happy:( Re: Village Square Edmondson Park Stage 16 671Jan 09, 2017 4:25 pm Earlier in this forum someone posted a suggestion regarding getting independent inspector during the build process. Is anyone doing this? Is it worthwhile? Also does anyone know if sarking is part of the Basix? Our builder is saying that our package doesn't include sarking.. Village Square Edmondson Park Stage 16 672Jan 13, 2017 6:18 pm I'm still tossing up getting someone to inspect at the different stages as our bank (ANZ) only does an inspection during frame and at completion. Our builder doesn't include sarking as standard and it didn't have any effect on our basix, in regard to meeting the minimums Has anyone here heard from their builders or even started construction yet? Sarking is not required for Basix and will only improve it meaning if you already had your Basix done and you want sarking then you don't need to relodge your Basix application. I'm building on the ridge and they have leveled the land and probably slab will be poured next week. I'm also with ANZ and might get an inspector for critical stages which I don't know yet. I heard there's a good one which costs about $500. Most builders have probably just started back in office. Wouldn't be surprised if their holiday hangover lasts for a bit. Let's hope some movement starts happening soon!. Well same like jonny1990 am also tossing up whether to go with an inspector or not. I don't want to spend another 2-3K. May get one or 2 main stages done, and if the supervisor allocated is good, maybe none at all. The problem is builders are not bound to rectify all the stuff inspector identifies. HIA contracts heavily favour builders. It's a wait n watch for me atm. Re: Village Square Edmondson Park Stage 16 676Jan 20, 2017 4:36 pm did any of u guys get hit for extra costs due to salinity? Re: Village Square Edmondson Park Stage 16 677Jan 22, 2017 8:34 pm sabrelli did any of u guys get hit for extra costs due to salinity? Don't know purely because of salinity, but yes had to upgrade to H Class slab for around 4K Re: Village Square Edmondson Park Stage 16 678Jan 25, 2017 1:05 pm Hi All, Just wanted some advice from you for my situation here..So my builder is going through the approval with CDC. Im planning to get the driveway built separately as the Builder Quote is too high and driveway is not included in my contract. CDC is asking to lodge an application to Liverpool council for Driveway building before they can approve my application. But the Liverpool Vehicular crossing application requires contractor details. When I speak to different contractors they are not willing to sign this now as the property is not built yet and it’s too early for them to provide Quote etc. Liverpool council doesn’t accept the application without the contractor details. Just wondering if anyone else in the same situation and how they got over this scenario? Thanks Re: Village Square Edmondson Park Stage 16 679Jan 26, 2017 4:57 pm askarabbas Hi All, Just wanted some advice from you for my situation here..So my builder is going through the approval with CDC. Half of council guys don't know the process themselves. Talk to Jaya or Viviana in the council office. They know the procedure. Good Luck. Re: Village Square Edmondson Park Stage 16 680Jan 27, 2017 11:12 am Drove by yday and saw that lot (Jandson Homes) on Vinny has slab down already!! No idea about the driveway question, but your price for a house that size including landscaping seems very good! 1 6253 Not unless you have managed to put it as a special condition into the contract somehow. 1 6251 |
