Deck has been oiled, just natural but it's come up quite dark. Great match for the dark oak stained cypress on the house but I kind of wish it was more like the natural blackbutt colour. I was a bit nervous after hearing how many people have been having trouble. Helps if you stick to the rules I guess . We built a gate with a bunnings gate kit and blackbutt decking, total spend less than $300, pretty happy with that! Still to be oiled once the tannins have leached out. Still not sure it's right for the space but it's practical and it's getting a lot of use with the kids. Probably just needs a rug or some wall hooks for scarfs and stuff. Decorating is not my thing. I like your garden! We have also put in the rusty edging, so we have a small garden and grass.....waiting very patiently for the grass to grow, the backyard has grown well but the front has taken its time. I wish my inside house looked like yours.. ours is just all our old stuff shoved in hahah so its not that great lookwise And we havent finished un packing...Can I just get rid of it all and start again? I wish! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1472May 12, 2018 8:35 pm Everything looks amazing. Your front yard is just stunning. And I love your pendants, your whole kitchen has come together beautifully. I like the bench, it looks lovely. Where did you get the hall mirror from I still need one, but I can't find anything I like. Omg, look at Mali!! She has gotten so big!! My little poppet. Her sister is finally getting big too D Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1473May 12, 2018 11:06 pm Princesssarrah06 Wow looks great Bank! I like your garden! I wish! Thanks! I love the rusty edging, we plan to use it for our small retaining wall out the back as well. We still have plenty of old stuff too! We did need a few new things that were reaching end of life so I've been looking out for bargains and grabbing them when they come up. Still need a new coffee table but can't seem to find "the one". Hubby insists it must have storage so that cuts out most straight away . https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1474May 12, 2018 11:13 pm aloenyx Everything looks amazing. Her sister is finally getting big too D I think she has had another growth spurt again recently, she seemed to slow down for a bit. She is like a dog, she'll try to scab anything we're eating no matter how bizarre! Mirror is just Ikea! I got it way back when they were only $79. Pictures never do it justice, always looks small. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1475May 13, 2018 10:06 am Hehe, one of my new fosters is like that. I briefly tried to figure out where I could put it but I really don't need anymore mirrors . Maybe you could spray paint it? Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1478Jun 15, 2018 2:23 pm So... 6 months! That went quick! Not much new around here, we're still agonising over back yard design, hopefully we'll get started on that soon. Porter Davis finally moved most of their concrete last week so I've dug the holes for the clothesline posts, would like to get that up this weekend if we get a break in the rain. For those interested in JGKings after service performance, we had our 3 month inspection 5 or 6 weeks ago, a bit late due to them being in between maintenance people. We ended up with a list of about a dozen things. Nothing major, mostly a bit nit picky and things we could have fixed ourselves if it wasn't their job . Anyway, the guy that did the inspection said all the right things, and to our surprise trades actually started turning up the following week! So mostly we're really happy. Still outstanding: -Wrong grout colour around the tile removed when they replaced the bath. This was on the handover list and the tiler refused to come because he says its the same (without actually looking at it ). Haven't heard from him this time either. If he still refuses when I follow up, I will request that it is replaced on the whole side of the bath because regardless if its the right colour or not, grout is defective if it isn't uniform in colour. -Some missing caulking, edge strip and crazy hinges that fly off at random in the kitchen. No sign of kitchen people. -Butlers and Kitchen taps stick when you use hot water. Clearly a product issue but they sent the installation plumbers first. They said we need a Milli rep, haven't heard anything since. -One of the double glazing panels in the Master needs to be replaced. I found a chip of glass (not from our window) stuck in the seal between the 2 panes. I didn't expect anything to be done about it but figured it was worth noting in case it wasn't sealed properly and we had issues with condensation or anything in the future. Turns out, its a problem! The guys that came to look at it were amazed it made it this far without exploding. I'm assuming they mean because there is a point load on one of the panes ? Anyway I figure if it was going to end up in a million pieces all over my bedroom like they said, it would have done it by now. So waiting on that. And that's it! Not too bad really. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1479Jun 15, 2018 8:45 pm Wow 6 months went fast!!! That's great that they are getting on things fast. I've just sent my builder notice that if I don't get some progress from them in next 2 weeks I'm taking them to court. Apart from the guy coming the week after handover to do the rangehood I haven't had a single trade come in the last 10 months, even though we had a handover list and I've since sent them an inspection report (from the 90 day inspection). Not happy Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1480Jul 03, 2018 8:38 pm Hi Bank, I'm considering building with JG King in Ballarat. I read your journey and others and there seems to be a familiar theme when it comes to building with JG King. The sales team are great but once it goes into the hands of the SS, it's a totally different story. I'd like your option now that you're in your house. After all said and done, do you love your house and would you go through it again for the end product? BTW your house is gorgeous! I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. All their existing trades and businesses don't work with… 14 105533 1 7935 Hmmm, I have checked your past posts and it seems that you are in NSW, not WA as I had thought. It pays to show your State in your avatar. Retaining wall regulations… 5 7850 |
