They had only done the bit beside the front door and half the corner blob and it already looked dramatically different! Can't complain about that! We've had a bumper week! Expecting a quiet one this week, just screeding and waterproofing booked. And maybe some replacement kitchen cupboards. Gee I hope this is the last week we have the scaff! https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Cladding finished! 1047Sep 17, 2017 10:56 pm Haha I wouldnt worry about that bit of extra render round the side- your not going to be looking at it and it looks like it blends in with there bricks anwyay? I can't believe how close your houses are at that point! ours is 200mm from the fence but the gutter is right on the fence line (of the garage) It is looking so good with the cladding and the bricks and render, I cannot wait to see it finished!! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Cladding finished! 1048Sep 18, 2017 8:18 am Wow look at you go!! Renderer on a Sunday, I remember having a trade in a Sunday I nearly fell over! So glad you are seeing some progress!! Trust me as hard as it is now, it'll all be worth it Re: JG King modified Heywood - Render 1049Sep 22, 2017 4:14 pm No real progress this week. Concretors came back and fixed their fixes again. Waterproofing is meant to be happening today but there was no one onsite yet when I was there this morning and last night the screeding hadn't even been done. Supposedly we are still meeting tilers Monday morning. Electrical fit off starts Tuesday (surely he meant the following Tuesday). We're getting a new chippy to look at defects, SS has had enough of the other dh. New guy might be there Monday too. Carpet is booked for the 11th. Hubby is sure he meant October but November makes more sense especially since last week he was still hesitant about committing to a pre Christmas hand over. Not sure if I should be panicking and starting to pack or worrying that they will trash my carpet putting it in so early. Sounds like there was a long wait for carpet and a spot opened up so he is taking it . No sign of exterior painting so the scaff can go. Shame, we've had such nice weather the last few days and now there is a chance of rain every day for the next week. Screeding was only done today, waterproofing Monday, then a couple of days drying time. Enormously frustrating when you have more idea whats going on and what needs to happen than your SS. When the waterproofers weren't onsite by mid week I knew we were in trouble. At least they left the bathroom window open Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: JG King modified Heywood - Render 1052Sep 23, 2017 9:40 am I am so frustrated for you!! This is just too much for my heart to bare Keep pushing through Hun!! When times got tough for me during our build I'd buy something nice for the house just to keep me going Re: JG King modified Heywood - Render 1053Sep 23, 2017 11:01 am Yeah I'm off to country road today to get a canister for teabags . I knew it was coming but it's still disappointing, especially after he confirmed earlier in the day that they were starting Monday. I doubt we're going to see the floor tiles next week now. Friday is a public holiday here so we'll only get 2 days next week. And unless they leave the window open we can't see in either bathroom from outside . https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t JG King modified Heywood - Render 1054Sep 24, 2017 5:27 pm We had a visit from a plasterer yesterday, he did the small bulk head in the kitchen but not the laundry one 🤷♀️. I wouldn't mind betting the new SS doesn't realise the laundry isn't done. I'm not happy with the position of the overheads since they moved them, they were told "flush with the reveal" but it's not and they still haven't addressed how they are going to deal with the reveal so I feel they have jumped the gun getting the plasterer back. I am happy they came through on changing the bulkhead from mdf to plaster, this is something I asked for early on but after drafting kept getting it wrong I eventually gave up, when the CM met us on site he suggested that he would get it changed to plaster because the mdf always cracks. We're also still missing a bit of plaster above the garage door. Now I think the Kmart was fine, probably should have saved my money. This one should also fit inside the sink so I can hide it under the drainer board on those rare occasions when there are no dishes. Isn't it frustrating when you can see something isn't happening and it needs to be but can't fix it. I think my boot would be having a date with the SS's butt. Very nice canisters too, I saw some really nice ones at Wheel and Barrow when I went to buy my palm leaves, Laura Ashely too (I might of been admiring a print in there ) Agree with Charlie with the shopping, just little things to keep you interested. Love your kitchen colours too JG King modified Heywood - Render 1058Sep 25, 2017 10:59 am aloenyx I'm having that issue, debating whether to try and fix the left over issues myself or push to have the builder fix them... Personally I think the damn builder should be fixing there issues. Look at it this way Dawn, your builder has a business, fancy ute and a nice home to live in from building houses for people just like you. Why can't he be held accountable for his mistakes. It's the only industry in the world that we are expected to accept sub standard work. You paid very good money for you home and you should receive good work. They need to fix their work. Although I understand your thoughts. We have so many battles on our hands, I know we're not going to win them all, and sadly there are already things we're thinking we can fix ourselves. Wish we had stuck to our guns more, but circumstances precluded us delaying handover. There were some issues I had resolved to accepting as is, but whilst I was fixing myself later, regretted having to spend more time and money to remedy their poor workmanship. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
