Ours were hob style so it may be different with free standing. I just would have thought it was tiled under a free standing though. Not to worry, just an observation JG King modified Heywood - Frame done, sort of! 582May 19, 2017 8:30 am Windows look awesome!!!! A lot seem to be delivered early. I think surtees' bath went in with the plumbing rough in so I'm guessing that is what will happen. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame done, sort of! 584May 19, 2017 9:10 am Princesssarrah06 Oh No! Hope your baths there in the morning! Thats a cracker though How exciting (Haven't been on here for a week or two) windows and gutters looking good, the basalt looks nicer then I thought however I haven't really looked at it (as I was stuck in my colour choice). It's amazing how much it changes with the light. It looks really pale until the gutter goes on then it looks great with the shadow the gutter creates. Unfortunately the skillion fascia is always going to look different because it doesn't have a gutter. Looks like two different colours at the moment but once its done we'll only ever see one at a time. And the roof scaff was being put on, woohoo! Bring on the roof! So glad it didn't rain this morning. Roofers were onsite until lunch time, they did the box gutter and flashing around the facade pier, including some interesting frame modifications. After the framers did the last lot of fixes there was a bit of frame near the pier that was clearly going to be in the way of the bricks, they appear to have cut that out Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ They have also come up with an interesting solution to the lack of provision for the box gutter, hmmm... Fingers crossed you have roof battens today 🤞🏼 GJ Gardner Modified Coolum 277 http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?t=83643 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame done, sort of! 590May 23, 2017 10:56 am Holy moly!! Well done to your trades - took my trades almost a week just for battens lol. Bring on this roof!!! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame done, sort of! 591May 23, 2017 12:15 pm charlibear Holy moly!! Well done to your trades - took my trades almost a week just for battens lol. Bring on this roof!!! Based on their previous efforts I'm shocked! They've done 3 part days until now, one for most of the fascia and gutter, one for the front fascia and installing fall protection, and one for the box gutter and pier flashing. We didn't even have sheets delivered yet so this is the last thing I expected. It's nice to be pleasantly surprised for a change . When I left (I got hungry )they were just starting on the sarking for the main roof. The garage roof was done but it's flat so I haven't had my colorbond moment yet! And even better being surprised with something happening haha Re: JG King modified Heywood - Roof! 595May 23, 2017 7:49 pm aloenyx Flying along!!! Haha I'm not sure I'd go that far . There's a house going up across the road from our rental, their slab was poured last week and the majority of the frame went up today. The first thing my daughter said to me after school was "that only took weeks! Ours took months!". Yep! This is the first time we've had workers onsite Monday and Tuesday so we're on track for a full 5 day week🤞 🤞 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Roof! 596May 23, 2017 8:33 pm It's looking good.... hope your tradies keep the pace going! - B A vue of the pines on the Gold Coast forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87210 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Roof! 597May 24, 2017 1:35 pm Roofers didn't come back today and no one else is onsite either. There goes my fantasy of 5 days of work. Don't get me wrong I know there's not always going to be someone there, but is it really so hard to just stay until you've finished! All we needed was two consecutive days and they'd be done! It was forecast to be reasonably windy today, it hasn't turned out that bad, maybe that's why . Also found out where our paper invoices have been going, to the building site! Hubby found a wet, soggy envelope on the ground addressed to us so we thought we had better open it. Unbelievable! I'm surprised the postie even delivered them given it's a building site without a mailbox. Not sure who to tell now, accounts never reply to our emails, hopeless! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Roof! 598May 24, 2017 3:24 pm My husband has spoken to our SS, the roofers didn't have enough sheets to finish the roof today. He had no idea that the kitchen window doesn't fit, seriously, the framers didn't think to mention that?! And he is still incredibly difficult to get any info out of. We have offered to met him onsite to make sure the kitchen window is resolved as it was intended when we upgraded it but he just won't commit to anything. If they get it wrong they will be fixing it . I'm so over the issues! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Roof! 599May 24, 2017 3:30 pm I'm so sorry this process is so stressful for you guys. Atleast there is progress though, even if it is slow. I bet it was a great feeling getting to walk through your home with the framing up though. Your SS seems painful to work with. I'm curious if you can request to speak to management, or ask for another? Since leaving Kings we've had more emails from them, than what we got when we were building with them. Last week, we had an email comfirming our colour choice for our garage 😂. Good communication going on in the Melbourne office. _____________________________ Follow our build with Boutique Homes on Instagram - ourbarcelona_28 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Roof! 600May 24, 2017 3:32 pm Seems funny that they didn't have enough to start with.... Hopefully the window will get sorted out quickly! Totally understand how you are feeling.... Sometimes I think we do their job better than they do I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
