Browse Forums Building A New House Re: JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 661Jun 07, 2017 3:18 pm Do you have a private inspector Bank? I'm not sure if it would help, but maybe if they were issued with a report from.an inspector, they may action the issues faster. _____________________________ Follow our build with Boutique Homes on Instagram - ourbarcelona_28 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 662Jun 07, 2017 3:30 pm We do, but there were very few issues at the frame inspection. The majority have come up since. Next inspection is pre plaster but who knows when we will get to that point, it's not feeling like anytime soon. At this stage we would just like some communication. Without any communication we don’t know what he is and isn’t working on. We don’t want stuff to be missed until it’s too late or causes more delays, but we don't want to upset him by sticking our noses in too much either. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 663Jun 08, 2017 10:14 am I got a migraine shortly after getting up this morning (bloody house!). So hubby hung around to help me get the kids off to school then drove me down to the house so I don't have to lay in bed all day wondering (and so he knows if anything has changed before he rings him today). I nearly threw up going down the deviation, but it was worth it! Look what we have! Did you steal one for a souvenir at home Actually one had been dropped on our south neighbours lot, it was a bit muddy and we figured they wouldn't want to have to clear it before their builder starts so we helped them out Re: JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 667Jun 08, 2017 11:42 am Woohoo bricks!!!!! Love that dark one!! Hard to get a nice light colour in the right tones too, thwart look awesome!! Hope they start going up soon! I'd definitely contact your admin and get on top of the lack of communication now! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 669Jun 08, 2017 12:12 pm Good news! Hubby has spoken to our SS and he was much more talkative this time (maybe some of our feedback has made it along the grapevine). He's going to try to make it to our place today to check out the issues relevant to the brickies starting, but they've dumped a heap of jobs on him down at Apollo Bay so he was going down there as well. He said, and I'm trying not to get too excited because we all know what trades are like, that they should start on Monday! Given its a public holiday he probably meant Tuesday but still! Yay! It will be interesting to see if we get the brickies that are working over the road, we saw one of them go into our place and I joked that maybe he was checking out the next job! More likely he was looking to scab some bricks . At a distance they look to be using the same as ours but I've sussed them out already, they're not! He also thought the chippy might turn up this week JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 670Jun 08, 2017 12:32 pm kylz4 Woohoo bricks!!!!! Love that dark one!! Thanks we love them too! We had to fight for them! The light ones are the same as the Finsbury display, Austral Praline. Problem was they no longer (well when we did our colours) deal with Austral. We wanted a light brick at the back because we're so closed in. We spent weeks trying to find an alternative but like you say, getting the right tone is hard! We didn't want to go too yellow or too white. Eventually they caved and said we could have them. They are also the most consistent brick we looked at, every house we saw looked the same! The dark are Austral Graphite. Once we had one Austral brick it was easy to get another. However we had to fight for charcoal mortar, kings didn't offer it back then, they did say lots of people were asking for it so may have changed. It's the most common colour used with these bricks and we loved the look! JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 672Jun 09, 2017 1:20 pm Part off the scaffold came down today! I hung around waiting to get a pic without it, but looks like we're stuck with the bit around the pier for a bit longer. SS did a good job of slipping out and driving off in the blink of an eye so I didn't get to speak to him. Probably should have camped beside his car door . I saw him measuring the kitchen window so hopefully that will get sorted soon, I doubt we'll hear what he has decided to do. Great to see people working anyway! Hopefully the lockup guy doesn't board up the windows and lock me out. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 674Jun 10, 2017 10:14 pm Turned up excited to see our front door on this morning, I was a little nervous that the "lock up guy" might have found a way to lock us out. Huh! He has badly (pretty sure I could do better myself) hung one door, the water damaged garage one, put the bath in, and has started making adjustments to the frame around the kitchen window. He left it looking like he had to rush off for an emergency . It must have been an extra early knock off day! I guess I hope he is back Tuesday? Nothing looks ready for the brickies so not really expecting them now, we'll see. Can't wait for the next inspection, I'm going to have a field day pointing things out to our inspector Re: JG King modified Heywood - Wrapped! 676Jun 13, 2017 1:25 pm Kitchen window is finally in! I haven't had a chance to measure it yet to check position. The lockup guy was doing a much needed cleanup, hadn't started on the front door yet. No sign of the brickies, there had been some more deliveries for them before the weekend so I guess we're still expecting them this week? Hopefully more things will get fixed before they turn up. Cavity slider frame in and a fair bit of the floor swept The sand doesn't seem to be normal yellow sand but it's not the whitest white sand I've seen brickies using, hopefully it's right?? The delivery docket was tucked into the pile, it just said 5 metres M.Sand? I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
