In fact I'm sure I said definitely not to the fascia tapering! Anyway it looks 10 times better than it did, just not sure if I can learn to unsee the tapering fascia and the fact the the north side of the roof appears to sit higher than the south. I'll have to get some people with less sensitive eyes to go past and see if they can pick the issue. Very hard to get a photo with that bloody scaff in the way. Battle won Good on you for sticking to guns and not letting them walk over you Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1004Sep 08, 2017 3:23 pm Feeling completely deflated and defeated today. SS called hubby, they spoke for like half an hour yet seemingly not much info was actually exchanged . Tap heights were being organised today, seriously! I could smack him! Screeding and water proofing asap, prob in the next 5 days. Then tiles. Electrical fit off is booked, probably next 5-10 days, this seems way ahead of where it should be. He had no idea when kitchen would be fixed but it is organised. I'm less than convinced that ALL the fixes have been communicated to kitchen people. He is still trying to convince chippy to come back but he only just realised the chippy hadn't actually finished the cladding 🤦, so now has that as ammo. Still trying to get renderer to come but he is disputing that the crooked masterwall he installed is his problem. It isn't really, the frame was flapping about not fixed properly, this was noted at frame inspection but never fixed. Basically it feels like none of the trades want to come back to our place to finish what they started because they are all being asked to fix stuff. He is still trying to claim he'll have us in by end of contract in 11 weeks, we can not see this happening, things would have to change dramatically. He's coming across very much as the smooth operator just telling us what he thinks we want to hear and it's rubbing me up the wrong way. Then I ran into him onsite, expressed my concern that things were moving forward without stuff like plaster and skirts being fixed. He didn't even have the plaster fixes on his list 🤦 🤦 🤦. And isn't sure how they could fix the skirts now that they have been painted, not my problem buddy!! The attitude seems to be oops we missed doing the fixing quality check, oh well, too late now! I don't think so!!! We had a bit of a discussion about our d0dgy tapering capping in which he tried to convince me that he also used to care about things like that but he's built so many houses now (of his own) that he isn't so pedantic anymore, WTF! How do I get off this ride? https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1005Sep 08, 2017 4:34 pm Oh hun, that's horrible! Why do we have to battle to get a well finished house that we bloody paid for??? I've done a massive clean of mine today finally and omg the issues... I'm so p!55ed. Don't let him get away it, you didn't pay for a house that he is happy with!! It would be great if you were in within 11 weeks, but not if you get a substandard house. I don't know how I'm going to fix some of my issues because I know the builder won't be back. Don't you hand over a cent till your happy. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1006Sep 08, 2017 4:41 pm Just to top out the day, we had our walk through today and I specifically asked about the color of the eves. and he said same thing as yours it is all now a set color (think he called it mystic) JG King Lexington 240 Acreage build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87762 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1007Sep 08, 2017 5:34 pm If anything this is making me dig in my heels more than ever, there is no way I will hand over until I'm completely happy.
Last week when I was showing him the wildly not square hampers he noticed a small crack in the plaster and took a photo of it, I mentioned that there are lots of those and he reminded me that I have the maintenance period and warranty period to get anything like this fixed , I quickly told him I won't be taking the house with cracks in it! Seriously a crack of any size is considered a defect at handover, afterwards I think they need to be greater than 1mm. Either he is very green as a SS or he thinks I came down in the last shower . Anyway hubby had a chat with the CM this afternoon, he seems adamant that everything will be fixed. He said they won't be handing over a house with wavy skirts (SS told me I probably won't notice them once the tiles go down, like hell I won't) and all the plaster issues will be fixed. But he said all that will be done down the track. So basically they are pushing forward, getting it finished, then pulling it apart again to fix it . He still didn't have an answer on the no. of paint coats, he is waiting on a reply from the painters themselves. I'm guessing they won't be worrying about that until the end either. They won't want to get as much paint on the tiles as they have everything else! I think I need some retail therapy, but I'm sick, and the landlord wants to bring someone through on Monday so I'll be spending the weekend cleaning and mowing https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1008Sep 08, 2017 6:12 pm emts Just to top out the day, we had our walk through today and I specifically asked about the color of the eves. and he said same thing as yours it is all now a set color (think he called it mystic) Thanks. Well that's one battle I won't bother with. It's very white! I assumed it was the "jg king white" they used on the ceilings. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1009Sep 08, 2017 6:27 pm Oh dear. I'm glad he is committing to fix things, but its so frustrating they don't just do it as it goes!! I have found a few cracks, I wish I had been more vigilant at PCI, but my builder was very good at distracting me. Maybe you need a few weeks away from the house (Although if your like me youll just imagine problems then). Oh no, your sick too? It must be going around, I feel awful (probably scrubbing the house didn't help, but I feel so much more relaxed now). Retail therapy for the win!! I think I will be doing some of that this weekend too. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1010Sep 08, 2017 6:51 pm aloenyx Oh dear. I think I will be doing some of that this weekend too. I've had a sore throat all week, pretty nasty one but my head has stayed surprisingly clear (until last night anyway) so I'm not too bad (not the flu or anything), but my nose blocked up last night so I couldn't sleep, that put me in a great mood today for my run in with the SS . Now it feels like it's going to my chest . Weird thing is the rest of the fam is fine! I'm usually the healthy one! I'm blaming the bloody house stress. I'm looking forward to the tiles so fingers crossed that goes well and I can focus on that for a while. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1011Sep 08, 2017 6:59 pm Hah... I'm the same, I'm usually the healthy one. Mine started with a cough, and then chills, night sweats, sneezing, headaches. I think I do have a flu But I'll be right. I can't wait to see your tiles either. They will be amazing! My bricks, tiles and lighting are the only things about my house that I like. Well that's one battle I won't bother with. It's very white! I assumed it was the "jg king white" they used on the ceilings. if you had not brought it up first i would prob have commented further to him. (maybe they read this and it's a conspiracy..) he said it was the outdoor version of our indoor ceiling colour. that also said, we were looking at colours prior to his arrival, and had both decided we did not like surfmist with the other colours. so anything else is a plus. so the only thing left surfmist is the downpipes near the render. I am going to ask if we can do these in the same colour as the render and ditch it completely. Judging by the large piece of aquachek in the skip I think the plumber has moved the basin taps! Not entirely sure why they need to remove so much, I guess now we have to wait for a plasterer before waterproofing. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1016Sep 12, 2017 3:28 pm Electricians have been and cut holes today. Unfortunately not without issue, sadly I have come to expect that now. Hopefully they had just gone offsite for lunch because they have left the door unlocked, missed a few, and put a few in the wrong spots. The down lights in the dining and family have been cut in completely different spots to where they were roughed in so our ridiculously large insulation holes are not even where the lights will be . Contrary to the plans and the rough in they have put them along the edge of the room this time. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1017Sep 12, 2017 3:43 pm is this where I start auctioning off my Supervisor? that said looks like we will be one of the last he will hand over in our area, they have too many contracts so splitting it up and he is hiring a lackey to cover our area. JG King Lexington 240 Acreage build https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=87762 Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1019Sep 13, 2017 12:53 pm So we returned last night to find the place locked up . Should have unlatched a back door while I had the chance but hubby wouldn't let me. It looked like they had been back and moved the fridge point higher. We requested this at rough-in both directly and via the SS but they just ignored both of us. No. 4 said he has some mates at the electricians and if we got someone he knew he could probably get it moved, if not they likely wouldn't budge. I guess he remembered! I'm wishing hubby had mentioned the other 2 requests now, none of them were changes from the plans just height instructions that the electrical girl refused to put on the plans . From what we can see there are still several holes missing and some mistakes (e.g. Down light hole cut where there should be a batten for a future pendant), so I thought they we be back this morning, but no! I guess we've had our 2 days of trades for the week . It almost seems like they didn't bring the plans again (this happened at rough in) and they were relying solely on the floor marks, so anywhere that was covered by the plaster stacks, is now covered by cabinets, or chipped away with the changes in the bathroom, hasn't been done. We were really hoping to get in and further investigate the pile of insulation that we can see in the ensuite shower, really hoping they haven't left it out of the wall when they moved the taps 🤦♀️. Still no screeding or kitchen fixes. https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_ ... are_type=t Re: JG King modified Heywood - Rectification work 1020Sep 13, 2017 2:53 pm That's frustrating bank...
