Seriously when he was standing in front of them all you could see was his head . I can't wait to see them in the sunshine! They're looking very bold at the moment Re: JG King modified Heywood - Bricks started! 747Jun 28, 2017 9:33 pm Ooooh looks awesome!!!! Overall we're extremely happy with their work however I'll be glad when they're gone so we can move onto the next thing! The family room window glazing has finally been installed, but still no bedroom glazing, perhaps they can't get it in with the scaffold in the way, who knows?! If that's the case we might be held up a while longer because I'm guessing they need the scaff to do the cladding that the previous SS forgot to order. Still no sign of the roofers, I'm assuming they will need to plug the big hole above our bedroom before the inside can proceed. I think the new SS was a bit optimistic at the start of the week, he probably hadn't fully grasped the number of lose ends on our job. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Bricks started! 753Jun 30, 2017 4:26 pm just remember the next step locks you out! we had the glazing finished in the lounge and bedroom the other day, so I cannot put a pole in and unlock the alfresco door! so think other than walk thoughs now we are out! There's no fear of that at our place yet. Do you have handles on your doors? We have bits of wood with a single tiny nail, they blow off in the wind they're so loose. The current doors need to be replaced so I assume they might be like that for a while. Fixing things doesn't seem high on the priority list, the water connection has been broken for months, we pointed it out just before the brickies started, thinking that they would need it, but no, they made them get it from next door rather than fixing something. And theirs is metered already, I hope PD pay the water bills, I'd hate to think that they were being passed on to our neighbours. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Bricks started! 755Jun 30, 2017 5:55 pm So front door does not have a handle. Photos don't do it's size justice. Yes, we had plenty of the light brick so I'm guessing it was just a case of the dark ones were closer to hand. Shame because it's harder to visualise how it will look now. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Bricks started! 760Jun 30, 2017 10:26 pm My thoughts exactly. There is plenty of each brick left but I don't think there would have been a full pallet of the dark ones even if they didn't use them elsewhere. I'm pretty sure there was a full pallet of the light which have mysteriously disappeared already. So maybe there was some method to their madness. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
