I was just walking past a JFK king display and wondered whether today would be the day Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 524May 01, 2017 7:49 pm All the walls are up except the garage and a few small bits and pieces like the bath and kitchen bulk heads! Feels so awesome! Love all the huge windows and the high ceilings! Drizzly and half dark tonight so I'll get some better photos tomorrow and some internals when we have our walk through hopefully later in the week. Silly me got excited and thought with it being a 4 day job that it would be complete by the end of the week . I grabbed a few sunny photos anyway. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 529May 02, 2017 1:42 pm bank RegVic looking great Bank.. are you going with 2550 ceiling? 2700 Reg! It was my one upgrade that was never negotiable! Well that and the facade. Great, you won't regret it.... Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 531May 02, 2017 1:52 pm Oooh, can't wait to see it with all those windows looking amazing!!! 2700 ceilings, nice!! Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 532May 02, 2017 1:55 pm We weren't sure about bothering our SS again, we're trying not to be too needy, but for the purpose of knowing when to book the frame inspection we decided to text and find out what the go is with the framers being MIA. He has come back saying that they will be finished this week! So book the inspection for tue/wed next week. And... everything up to lock-up is booked and come rain, hail, or shine we will be at lock-up by the end of the month!! (again didn't specify which month, that must be their get of jail free card ) Sounds amazing but you know what they say, if it sounds too good to be true... He said lock-up not reverse lock-up but I refuse to believe he has brickies booked, with kings that would be too good to be true Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 533May 03, 2017 12:46 pm Framers are back today! Garage and alfresco have been done this morning, bye bye backyard . One of them was checking wall straightness and the other was marking the truss positions on the top plates so we should have at least some roof tonight, yay! Frame inspection is booked for Tuesday. I'm already aware of a few issues around the slab dimensions, hopefully rectifying this doesn't hold things up and it will be full steam ahead to the end of the month Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 534May 03, 2017 12:55 pm You just missed me haha, I called into the Metricon displays just before 12 to check the dark stain and the rollers on the pivot door as ours doesn't have one and then drove by your place to see if any action was going on! lol you are clever knowing what they are doing, I wouldn't have a clue with that stuff Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 535May 03, 2017 1:04 pm kylz4 You just missed me haha, I called into the Metricon displays just before 12 to check the dark stain and the rollers on the pivot door as ours doesn't have one and then drove by your place to see if any action was going on! lol you are clever knowing what they are doing, I wouldn't have a clue with that stuff Gee we must have been close to crossing paths, I think I left about 11.50. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 536May 03, 2017 1:14 pm Haha, I know it was 11.55 when I went into display because I stopped to check as they weren't open til 12 but he said it was fine lol how funny Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 537May 03, 2017 7:14 pm Trusses have been lifted but not erected yet. The front is coming together though! Very exciting! It's huge! We're thinking this may be related to a late change where they cut 40mm off the right hand side. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Frame! 540May 03, 2017 10:15 pm Princesssarrah06 exciting.. are you referring to where the metal overhangs the concrete? how do they fix that up? Yes. Not sure what method they will use, I'll find out more at our inspection next week. We believe we've figured out what happened, the slab drawing is correct but the dimensioning isn't as clear as it could have been. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ We haven't been in to measure it to confirm but we think they may have assumed both sides of "the blob" were to be 240mm (which they were originally), however right down the other end of the drawing is a 200mm dimension. Then all the other dimensions across the front have been taken from that corner which is why they all look correct and according to hubby were correct when he checked pre pour, just roughly 40mm out of position. I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
