That went quick! Not much new around here, we're still agonising over back yard design, hopefully we'll get started on that soon. Porter Davis finally moved most of their concrete last week so I've dug the holes for the clothesline posts, would like to get that up this weekend if we get a break in the rain. For those interested in JGKings after service performance, we had our 3 month inspection 5 or 6 weeks ago, a bit late due to them being in between maintenance people. We ended up with a list of about a dozen things. Nothing major, mostly a bit nit picky and things we could have fixed ourselves if it wasn't their job . Anyway, the guy that did the inspection said all the right things, and to our surprise trades actually started turning up the following week! So mostly we're really happy. Still outstanding: -Wrong grout colour around the tile removed when they replaced the bath. This was on the handover list and the tiler refused to come because he says its the same (without actually looking at it ). Haven't heard from him this time either. If he still refuses when I follow up, I will request that it is replaced on the whole side of the bath because regardless if its the right colour or not, grout is defective if it isn't uniform in colour. -Some missing caulking, edge strip and crazy hinges that fly off at random in the kitchen. No sign of kitchen people. -Butlers and Kitchen taps stick when you use hot water. Clearly a product issue but they sent the installation plumbers first. They said we need a Milli rep, haven't heard anything since. -One of the double glazing panels in the Master needs to be replaced. I found a chip of glass (not from our window) stuck in the seal between the 2 panes. I didn't expect anything to be done about it but figured it was worth noting in case it wasn't sealed properly and we had issues with condensation or anything in the future. Turns out, its a problem! The guys that came to look at it were amazed it made it this far without exploding. I'm assuming they mean because there is a point load on one of the panes ? Anyway I figure if it was going to end up in a million pieces all over my bedroom like they said, it would have done it by now. So waiting on that. And that's it! Not too bad really. Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1479Jun 15, 2018 9:45 pm Wow 6 months went fast!!! That's great that they are getting on things fast. I've just sent my builder notice that if I don't get some progress from them in next 2 weeks I'm taking them to court. Apart from the guy coming the week after handover to do the rangehood I haven't had a single trade come in the last 10 months, even though we had a handover list and I've since sent them an inspection report (from the 90 day inspection). Not happy Re: JG King modified Heywood - Landscaping 1480Jul 03, 2018 9:38 pm Hi Bank, I'm considering building with JG King in Ballarat. I read your journey and others and there seems to be a familiar theme when it comes to building with JG King. The sales team are great but once it goes into the hands of the SS, it's a totally different story. I'd like your option now that you're in your house. After all said and done, do you love your house and would you go through it again for the end product? BTW your house is gorgeous! I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending. It pays to show your State in your avatar. Retaining wall regulations… 5 7782 |
