I'm not sure. We've been thinking about it but I was completely convinced they would fix it before our walk through.
Because it's the space between the island and the pantry/fridge wall that is bigger it doesn't hurt, it feels like a good space on the kitchen side. However I've always felt the distance from the island to the back door was on the tight side for good circulation already, we have heaps of width not so much length.
We've been dragging around furniture here to try and get a feel for the gaps . They seem ok, and I guess it's only 75mm less down each side of the dining table. It's a very permanent decision though!
I'll post up the plan with furniture tomorrow and see what you all think
