Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 07, 2015 4:49 pm Hey everyone, I got a quote on a steel picket fence, driveway gate and pedestrian gate for a home we will start building at the end of this year and WOW was I shocked to see the price!! Around $10K (we have 16m frontage plus a couple of meters either side before the the paling fence starts). Does anyone have a PVC picket fence? Does it still look as new as they day you got it? any help, advice suggestions and recommendations of suppliers would be greatly appreciated. We are in the Vic Northern Suburbs. Worst comes to worst I'll go wooden and just paint every few years. Thanks Re: Steel Picket Fence vc PVC Picket Fence 2Nov 08, 2015 3:59 pm I know Stratco do a PVC picket fence, but I'm in WA, not to sure if the stock is the same over there. That's all I know sorry, just saw it in there when I was looking at something else. Re: Steel Picket Fence vc PVC Picket Fence 3Nov 10, 2015 4:25 pm We don't have pvc fencing but there are several houses in our area that do. If you google pvc ultimate fencing unanderra there are photos of some in our local area (Wollongong). I've seen a privacy fence that has been up at least 2 years and it looks good as new. A ranch style at the end of our street also looks great. Haven't seen a picket but there are photos. Can't give you any idea of pricing, but from what I've seen they stand up well to strong wind, sunlight etc. From what I've seen I'm pretty impressed.
