Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 06, 2015 8:14 pm Hi all We are building our first home Asquith 36 by beechwood. We just received the plans and the water tank which us huge is in the back yard d. I really don't want it there but due to windows apparently there is nowhere else for it to go. Due to basic they had to increase the size of it .. I was wondering where people have their water tanks ? Re: First home builder and water tanks 2Nov 06, 2015 9:19 pm What size tank do you have to have? We've getting a 5000L round tank for our build. We've positioned it at the back right of our home against the ensuite wall with no windows. Do you have a site plan of the block you can share? Re: First home builder and water tanks 5Nov 19, 2015 9:51 pm Emzzza We just received the plans and the water tank which us huge is in the back yard. I was wondering where people have their water tanks ? Emzzza It is 6000l apparantly 5000 l wasn't enough it is 3.4 m wide. A 3.4 metre diameter is extremely big for a 6,000 litre tank! Are you sure of that measurement? A 6,000 litre round poly tank 1.9 metres high would usually have a diameter of about 2.15 metres and most 5,000 litre tanks have 1.8 metre diameters. You have a huge choice of tanks in all shapes and sizes and you don't have to have a single tank or even have multiple tanks grouped together. Having a two tank settling system is the ideal option. If you are doing a courtyard or need a retaining wall, a multi purpose tank might also be an option for you. Check out what is offered by Landscape Tanks. http://www.landscapetanks.com.au/ Most people also get ripped off and nearly all water tank installations are sub standard. You need to do your home work to ensure that your water tank installation won't also be sub standard. You can easily save thousands of $$$ with just a little research. Don't put your trust in a plumber or the builder!!! NOTE: This thread should be in Eco Living. 3in1 Supadiverta. Rainwater Harvesting Best Practice using syphonic drainage. Re: First home builder and water tanks 7Nov 20, 2015 7:48 am I saw something very similar ( maybe the same company ) at the Sydney Homeshow last year. A great concept if you can't fit ( or don't want ) a standard looking tank in your backyard. I had an expo display next to Landscape Pools a few years ago and spent quite a bit of time talking to the owner and looking at the product. I was impressed. 3in1 Supadiverta.
