Too funny about your ensuite window - would be an interesting sight from the outside. Which mortar did you go with? We went with off white We just went with what is standard with our builder which is off white mortar (light sand/white cement). Our insulation arrived today. We upgraded it and was surprised to see our walls will have acoustic insulation (soundscreen). Re: H&H's acreage build - Bricks started 28/1 64Feb 04, 2016 3:53 pm LOCKUP STAGE Front still has verandah to come. The brickies finished this morning but asked if I left front gate open (I didn't). They had some bags of cement and lime stolen overnight luckily they had just enough left to finish job today. Next is plastering which I was told will start tomorrow but no signs of plaster delivery I have a key to house so can pop in and sticky beak when ever I like Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Back view. Re: H&H's acreage build - Lockup complete! 69Feb 15, 2016 8:19 pm Plastering is now finished. We have walls! Doors, architraves and sinks arrived today I'm getting excited, everything is coming together! Cabinetry should be going in this week. We got a quote for concreting our verandah and driveway pad from a recommended local concretor, $2000 cheaper than builder quoted. Yep we aren't getting the builder to do it! Front door. Will be painted surfmist colour to match windows and verandah poles. We wanted a door that wouldn't outdate so hoping this traditional door will look ok! We visited after 5pm and builder was still there working away. He just had laundry and main bath to go which he was finishing today so we'll check out how they look tomorrow. I was always worried about my bench colour but am completely fine with it now! Pics make it look darker than what it is. It's a lovely grey colour. Will take a close up pic when has been cleaned. Your choice of bricks for this kind of home is perfect... Traditional country with a splash of freshness I read that you are going to plant the chanticleer ? great choice.... We had them in our previous home and they are beautiful and low maintenance... We are going to plant a Canadian maple this time called flaming something ?? I really should know the name as we will be planting 7 going up the driveway maybe a bit too many lol Re: H&H's acreage build - Cabinetry 75Feb 22, 2016 5:11 pm Bricks cleaned on weekend I asked SS today for an approximate finish date and if all keeps going smoothly 6-8 weeks http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/image_zpswnec9tur.jpg http://i667.photobucket.com/albums/vv34/beckles5000/image_zpsgvo70rid.jpg Re: H&H's acreage build - Cabinetry 76Feb 22, 2016 8:55 pm Houseandhorse No one at the house today but laundry and bathroom cabinetry in.
