Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Nov 04, 2015 10:28 am We are building with Coral Homes on the Sunshine Coast QLD. We have an acerage block that is 15 minutes from the beach. After much looking, at just about every builder out there, we decided on the Casuarina 32 as the design was perfect to look out over our dam without paying for an architect designed home and we liked the price. Great price for 302sqm of loveliness. We have chosen the designer range but raised the ceilings to 2550mm, and changed the front door to a 1200mm, plus have a 1200mm recess door to the media as it is the focal entry point to the house. We changed the double garage into our master bedroom (as we will get a big shed for the cars and storgae), which effectively gives us a 6 bedroom house (we have lots of kids) with a media room, an open plan kitchen/lounge/dining. We have a kids leisure room and there is another room which we thought of using as a reading room but we have another tv in there so the kids can give us some peace and do their thing in the media room. One of the rooms can be converted to a study but will be kept as a bedroom for now. We changed to windows in the kitchen/lounge/dining area looking out to the dam so it is all floor to ceiling glass, giving lots of lovely light and morning sun. Ok so it has taken us ages but we have signed off on the last variation and should have a build date within the next few days im hoping. We are doing our our water tanks seperate from Coral Homes. We got an excavator to cut a pad on a slopey unused part of our block but still close enough to the house and laid crusher dust down. We ordered 4 x 23000 liter water tanks. This was a point of contention between hubby and I, as he felt it was more than we needed but with no town water supply and the unpredictable rainfall i would much rather have too much water than not enough. We also ordered a Grundfos CMBE 3-62 pump which should be more than capable of handling the workload. We are also doing our water treatment system (sewerage) seperate to Coral. We saved alot of money doing this BUT, if you have never been through the process it takes so much time. We needed to get engineers, council submissions, plumbers etc. They say time is money so i guess you need to figure out which one you have more of I call hubby Mr Crabs off spongebob as every time i look like im going to add a variation or spend money he gets cranky haha. Im glad he is so sensible though <3 I have pictures of all the stages to date but just need to figure out how to post them. I will let you know about the build date. Stay posted. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17587 of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them. I find it odd that lawyers wouldnt be willing to take on the case, given CCT evidence and… 1 23764 "Losers" "humanity" "off time" "your" "top notch" "love symbol" Sounds like ponzo is done using other people's toilets 36 23886 |
