Browse Forums Building A New House Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 101Jun 24, 2016 9:51 am Hi julia yeah going along really well. Plaster should almost be complete havent been there for a few days. Really starting to rake shape ajd get a appreciatoon of the size of the rooms etc. Sometimes pre-plaster its a little hard to get a feel of each space. We are really happy with some of the changes to the plan we made, they have all worked out well , we were a bit worried we shouldnt have changed so much to the original plan. Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 102Jun 24, 2016 10:46 am Hey guys, I'm really keen to get the very basics of what was changed in your houses. I'm getting nervous about ours, not sure we have everything we need. My email address is mw_shelley@yahoo.com.au if you don't mind getting in touch and I can send you my detailed additions etc and ask your valued opinions seeing as you are doing the same build. Thanks in advance Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 103Jun 24, 2016 12:36 pm looking good Jimmy, did you add the bulk head in the kitchen? Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 105Jun 24, 2016 1:39 pm Yeah it was a good idea, we have the MDF bulk head for the kitchen wish we had of done plaster though but lessons learned. It will look good. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 107Jun 25, 2016 9:06 am Definately not clean jaslee. I think all the plaster dust makes it appear that way. Our whole site is a mud pool and our slab is dusgusting. With all this rain i dont think that will change to the final clean . I dont know how the brickies are going to work . The outside of the house has mud everywhere ? Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 108Jun 26, 2016 5:15 pm Wow its looking great jimmyk. I love how we have the same floor plan but our houses have different feels about them because of the different changes we have both made and the different facades etc. Your built in bookshelf will be great when its finished and i love your alfresco out the back. Ours we are going to do later to the side of the house instead of back. Its fun putting our own personalities into our houses. Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 109Jun 26, 2016 9:02 pm Totally agree julia. Its great seeing everyones take on the same floor plan and then thinking oh i should have done that. In regards to the side of the house thats where im building my outdoor bbq area after handover. By the way looking at your photos our kitchens almost look identical except we didnt put handles on tje top cupboards and we left a open shelf above the fridge in a timber look as a feature. Bit nervous about how it will look Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 110Jun 27, 2016 9:16 am We must have good taste then! Im really lookinh forward.to our floor being laid because that will bring some colour into our kitchen. I love handleless cupboards very sleek! Im sure your open shelves will look fantastic add that bit of wow. Bring on the bricks for both of us i say Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 112Jul 21, 2016 8:09 pm Hi julia Everything was flying along untill 2 weeks ago . Kitchen and cabinetry. Doors and all skirts are in. Unfortunately after talking to the ss yesterday we are at a standstill untill bricky is found. He informed us that he cant give us a date for bricks to start as they havent been able to lock one in yet. Very dissapointing that such a large volume builder wouldnt be able to find someone or have many available. Really frustrating as i dont like the idea of the house been not bricked up for the next 4-6 weeks in th the middle of winter with all the rain. Seen the house has been plastered im not convinced that theres no chamce of water getting in. I assumed your bricky might be soing our house next but thats not the case BTW your place is looking amazing might drive past for a look tomorrow after work. Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 114Aug 25, 2016 7:42 pm Thats great looks like theyare making great progress. Hope it continues Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 117Aug 26, 2016 6:54 pm Yeah its looking good, its really starting to all come together and they are flying along. End of next week should see them done. Im really excited for painting which should be soon Re: building the jg king memphis-trent facade, geelong 119Aug 28, 2016 4:31 pm As we are few months from handover and are doing our own carpet and floorboards. Time to decide on the colours of bpards and carpet. Our floor tile has been chosen for the laundry and bathroom. As pictured we are foing for a dark grey concrete look tile. Also pictured are floorboards and carpet we are leaning towards. Any thoughts on the combinations would be appreciated . Thanks I would never build with Fowler homes.
