Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 30, 2015 1:48 pm Me and my wife have recently started our journey to build our first home. We are equally excited and scared with this. As we are very new in the property market we have almost "zero" knowledge on what is involved in building. Going through various blogs and posts, I am actually feeling more lost. We have gone through a lot of display homes and finally decided to go ahead with Wisdom Washinton 29 as it's the closest one to our requirement and budget. We have just paid our initial $1000 for the contour tests and waiting for the tender. You don't know what you don't know. And we don't know what we may have overlooked. So any advise/suggestion/caution is highly appreciated. Building Washington 29, Avanti Facade. Re: Building our first home 2Oct 30, 2015 2:00 pm Great design the Washington 29 - packs a lot into a 29sq house with the small office at the front and the upper lounge upstairs. I love Wisdoms 25-32 square designs, they take all the features of the larger houses and put them in to a smalle rhouse. You'll find us all hanging out on the Wisdom build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=71662&start=1320 Lots of different members at different stages can give you advice, we're in the admin process up to our kitchen/carpet/tiles appointments next week after having paid the $1500 earlier this year. Thanks a lot for your post . I will surely keep an eye on the thread. I have just paid the initial $1000 last week. So still some time left before the appointments. We are also building Washington 32, made the initial deposit last weekend, it's a package deal land + Washington 32 design. Can we share together the experience with Wisdom Homes, if that's okay with you? - With the Washington 29 design base price, how much did you add more or what was your total tender price? The reason I ask is we are still deciding if we go package deal or we cancel or deposit and buy a land and build the Washington 32. We really appreciate if we can coordinate with our projects. NavyLion Hi NavyLion We have just had our first set of appointment last week. My initial tender came up to $419k (this included some estimated allowances). After our tiling, A/C and kitchen appointment I have upgraded few things and now already looking at $430k. With the electrical appointment and colour I am afraid I will end up with around $450k at the end. My initial budget was $400k but as you can see small change here and little upgrade there has made the figure blow out of budget by roughly $50k. I have bought a land and is waiting for registration at this point of time. Getting the paperwork ready from builders end so we can start building as soon as land registers. Congratulation on your initial deposit. So far I am happy with the proceedings from wisdom's end. They have been very friendly and prompt to action all the necessary steps. Building Washington 29, Avanti Facade. So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27702 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not?
