Look forward to your next set of photos Monkey.. Re: The building begins....**updated** 82Feb 24, 2009 2:28 pm Its been a while since I have updated, haven't been feeling too well and sometimes been sleeping most of the day! , but there is a reason for that as some of you already know, and hopefully in a couple of weeks it should all go away.
Our painter has been, and given nearly everything that needs to be painted a nice fresh coat of paint. The ceiling and cornice in white and glossy 'studio white' for the doors, frames and timber shelf mouldings. The front render has been painted in the required colours of jasper and dune and gutters been done in their 'weathered copper'. After seeing the roof, I was thinking that I maybe should have gone for black gutters instead, but the gutters are now done and I dont think it looks too bad. Certainly not as bad as what I was picturing in my head! (will have to get photos later of the gutters). The downpipes weren't finished yet, but the painter still has to come back to paint the front door and seal our walls, so I guess it will be done then. The tiler has done most of his part (there is still some sealing that needs to be done) and we now have proper looking bathrooms! There is one part of the tiling that I am very unhappy with, and if the shower screen doesnt cover it I will be asking for it to be redone. I also dont like the white grout with the grey tiles on the floor...dont know the best way to fix it though. We never had a grout colour choice, so have to have what they use. There are a couple of other small things that I am not entirely happy with, and they will be getting addressed at handover...which we have been told is approx 12 weeks after lock-up which will bring it to the first week of April. Our CO did say either start or mid April. It better be the start!! They have so little left to do. What we have left to be done is: the plumber to fit the rest of the fittings, the electrician for the points and stove etc. the shower screen installers, and the people who do the garage floor and door, I think thats about it. We have a big list of things we need to do after handover though.... so even after we get the keys it will be a couple of months before we can move in. Re: The building begins....**updated** 83Feb 24, 2009 2:30 pm looks great monkeyupatree the feature tiles look nice, and I am jealous of your towel rail ALREADY in!!! (2 months down the track and I'm still hanging towels over the shower door )

I like the facade colours. Are the towel rails standard? How long until handover? Built the Atlantique 37 Mk2 with Carlisle Homes - WE'RE IN!! erinleigh... the render is dune and the recess (the sticking out part) is jasper. We will be getting the garage door in jasper too. We got our first electricity bill the other day (well a 'pay immediately' one, we forgot about the first one ) and it was $150. The bill was an estimate going by other people houses out there already! We told them we werent going to pay an estimate, and they told us that we had to go and check the meter # ourselves! We told them to get off their butts and do their own job, and they called us today to let us know the bill was 20 odd dollars. A bit of a difference and a much nicer amount to pay, seeing as we are already paying 2 of everything else! Re: The building begins....**updated** 89Feb 25, 2009 6:35 pm I'm glad they sent you a new electricity bill.. cause $130 is a huge difference. Re: The building begins....**updated** 90Mar 02, 2009 12:00 pm Hi D@n, that looks great, can you do one for my house too? Re: The building begins....**updated** 91Mar 04, 2009 12:37 am We have been out to the house a couple of times last week, and we now have all the plumbing done. They broke a tile in the shower, so it has to be fixed. The electrician has installed the lights/points and stove/hotplate. I think I should have added 3 lights over the bench, not 2, not happy on where they are located, but that is my fault. Will be able to get a better idea when we put pendants up anyway. Will also have to check the theatre light. I think it is is the wrong position, I only glanced at it though. We also noticed that the ceiling in the main living area had been fixed. Our front door has been undercoated (painter is going back out on Monday to finish his job) and our garage floor is in. All we are waiting on now, is the shower screens, the fly screens and the garage door to be installed. Hoping that is all that needs to be done, before our PCI. There are a few things that will need to be fixed up.
I had a quick look at the manual for the oven.... and I dont think I will be entirely happy with it! If anybody can give me feedback on the blanco ovens it would be appreciated. (We have model BOSE35X) As yet I dont have photos Keep forgetting to charge my camera battery to take it. Looks like we will be going out again on Monday so will update with pics then. The painter will be finishing the rest of the external painting, painting the ceilings and sealing our walls over the next couple of days. Re: The building begins....**updated** 97Mar 08, 2009 7:53 pm I really like your colours, especially the facade - I too can't wait for the red doors! It will look FABULOUSS!! Apparently it is very hard to do, even with the same sized tiles... or so I was told.
What is going underneath the ends of the ensuite benchtop? Is that feature render colour in the front Jasper? Re: The building begins....**updated** 99Mar 08, 2009 8:33 pm Wow, looking great!! 'A bottle of wine contains more philosophy than all the books in the world.' Louis Pasteur Vegie garden: viewtopic.php?f=19&t=27637&start=0 My Backyard Adventure Re: The building begins....**updated** 100Mar 08, 2009 10:08 pm Donuts: we are going to put in a shelf on one side of the ensuite cupboard (sometime down the track) and the other will house the washing basket. The problem with the shower tiles is that the cut tiles on the floor are on oppisite sides as the cut tiles on the wall. If they had of used the full size tile in the corner it would have matched. After all the other side has a screen attached to it. Yep Jasper it is, still has to have another coat apparently.
salt&pepper: hoping our red doors are done tomorrow..... I cant wait either. Only one other house, so far, in our whole estate has red doors, so it will be something a little different. go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110592 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11039 |
