Hi all,
I am confused out when our builder should be starting building works.
So we were DA approved 17/11/15. We were told within 2-4 weeks we will be provided with a start date but work will most likely commence in January rather than December - I thought this was fair enough.
After not hearing from the builder by the 4 week period I did not get an answer until today (after hassling them since 15th Dec to now) where they told me they have applied for construction certificate, should be back end of next week, then another 2-3 weeks for estimating team to generate consolidation paperwork then we need to approve it then will get to meet out site supervisor. Still not sure when we will start but it's looking at at least 4-5weeks away.
Is this normal?
I have contacted fair trading who directed me to law advice, they have ridiculous waiting times. I have left a message with our solicitor & am yet to find out when they are legally required to start.
Contract says work must commence within 20 working days after all approvals are received. Does this mean they can take as long they want to apply for constriction certificate?
