Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 16, 2015 12:21 pm Both our neighbours and us have demolished our houses and rebuilding. They are building their garage right on our boundary. Our builder refused to build on the boundary and is building our garage 20cms off of the title boundary. So there will be a 20cm x 6.5metre gap between the two brick garages. What should we put between the two structures/foundations to prevent weeds growing? Our slab is poured but our neighbours isn't yet. What else can we do so it doesn't become full of debris, or cause moisture issues? Please help! TIA KDR Chadwick 41 Eastern Suburbs I don't think you ever build directly on the boundary, it is usually about 200mm off the boundary, at least going by our construction plans that is the case and we are building zero-lot. Maybe it is the same for your neighbour as well? 15-20cm gap between two brick garages - WWYD? 3Oct 16, 2015 12:36 pm According to their plans they are building directly on it. And our builder would have done so too if we weren't a knock down rebuild. They just don't want the hassle of boundary inaccuracies and disputes that may arise in established suburbs that often have incorrect boundary lines.
