They were laying the bricks and allowed us to go inside the house Electrical work completed, lights have been installed. We didnt want the batten lights and this has been specifically mentioned in the contract but i think mistake has been done. We were just about to leave and the site supervisor came. Finally we met our site supervisor and he invited us to go through the updates as well as if any issues with the work being carried out. We showed him the Batten lights and he advised that he will get it fixed. he mentioned that there would have been some miscommunication but he will get it fixed. He pretty much showed us everything and gave update on what work has been happening. The timeline he has given is about 6-7 weeks roughly. I will be probably going with 8-9 weeks for full completion With Internal work we are pretty much happy. single coat of paint is completed and they will do final coating once the internal work is completed. Some internal pictures of the house http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/Photo%2030-7-16%203%2041%2052%20pm_zps0fgwdwni.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/Photo%2030-7-16%203%2041%2056%20pm_zpsdlthsisc.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/Photo%2030-7-16%203%2042%2011%20pm_zps81vncpuj.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/Photo%2030-7-16%203%2042%2026%20pm_zpswvjzhgwe.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/Photo%2030-7-16%203%2042%2044%20pm_zpsq2m6nuxn.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/Photo%2030-7-16%203%2043%2005%20pm_zpsrpgddwrz.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/Photo%2030-7-16%203%2043%2044%20pm_zps6fwfo6i7.jpg Feeling satisfied that work is going good and we have good update from the SS. They have advised to select new color for the benchtops. I think their wont be any additional cost to it but below are the colors which they recommended us to select. What do you think? http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/Panna%20Cotta%20-%20Bisque%20Cloud__zpsk19tnj59.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/New%20Sable%20Luxe%20-%20Ashen%20Cloud%20-%20Dolomite%20Spur%20-%20Bisque%20Cloud_zpsalndkxst.jpg Y0u R tH3 Cr3@t0r 0f y0Ur 0Wn R3@L1ty Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 87Aug 09, 2016 4:55 pm Oh no that is disappointing they didn't tell you sooner. The whole Essastone range got discontinued due to quality issues about 6 months ago. I heard it through the grape vine and was straight onto our builder. I don't think its fair they have known the whole time and not let you know sooner. As for your new choices its hard to say.. what cupboard and colours are you going with again? As your new choices are different to what you originally chose. What are you leaning towards? Have you seen the new colours in person yet? I would have a look at there new range to make sure its exactly what you are after. Good luck Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 88Aug 09, 2016 5:01 pm hmmm... they're not all that similar are they. Do you have photos of the new stone with your laminate samples? The essastone change has been a complete mess. We popped into laminex again last week and they still don't have small samples of the stone we chose, the staff are as frustrated as us. I am not sure what are we going to do but Bisque Cloud stone looks close to Panna cotta stone, the new palette from essatone are really a joke. Yesterday we had been to the color selection studio and they were very rude to only show us Bisque cloud and advised that for all other colors we have to take an appointment with consulting charge. seriously to see other colors. it is just crap!! I just told them i have other ways to see the colors and cant be bothered arguing with them and pay for some crap consulting. As per the posts the cabinets are all in so we have to just make sure new color stone goes well with cabintes. What do you think about bisque cloud for kitchen?? Y0u R tH3 Cr3@t0r 0f y0Ur 0Wn R3@L1ty Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 90Aug 10, 2016 11:25 am bank hmmm... they're not all that similar are they. We popped into laminex again last week and they still don't have small samples of the stone we chose, the staff are as frustrated as us. Agree bank, they are not similar at all. we dont have the new stone with the laminate samples but we will try to somehow get the samples by weekend. Yes the essastone new color palette is a mess. I just hope we can make some decision by this weekend. What do you think about the above pictures? Y0u R tH3 Cr3@t0r 0f y0Ur 0Wn R3@L1ty Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 91Aug 10, 2016 1:55 pm The bisque cloud is pretty close for the kitchen. Can you get Tullamarine? They have larger pieces there, although the lighting sucks. It might pay to see a big piece of it because the patterning is so different. The bathroom is tougher. Is that the tile under the stone samples? I'd be reluctant to go darker with the dark cabinets but then both clouds don't really look the right tone. Photos can be deceptive though. You should definitely try to get to see the whole range with your tile and laminate samples, you might find something else. I feel your pain, we had to change from a dark bench top to white in our ensuite because the 'replacement' grey was a completely different tone and clashed with our tiles. Good luck I don't think I told you, I was given a different story the day we confirmed the new stone, apparently essa got caught shopping around so their original stone provider ditched them and left them high and dry, hence the sudden change. Interesting story, but I thought what you heard seemed more likely. Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 93Aug 10, 2016 4:20 pm Hmm interesting story. The kitchen supplier i know had heaps of it in stock and had to dump it all so why wouldnt they use the stock up and just waste it unless it had quality issues... Guess will never know. Im a bit nervous about our replacment stone "calcite" i saw a photo of it on a bench and im wondering if it will be to cream :/ only time will tell. Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 94Aug 21, 2016 7:10 pm So finally we have decided on the benchtop color, we are going with Bisque cloud for Kitchen as well as bathroom. Yesterday we had been to see the house, Apparently someone has broke into the house and have took half of the kitchen cabinets. Sometimes i dont understand why would someone steal cabinets... Well builder has already organized to get the whole cabinet changed. Flooring has started in the house http://s1168.photobucket.com/user/Herin_Domadia/media/IMG_1843_zps8q8kjpno.jpg.html http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/IMG_1843_zps8q8kjpno.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/IMG_1844_zpstdlrbf4u.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/IMG_1847_zps5hxr4mvm.jpg They have put the shelving in all the bedrooms and linen but they have made a mistakes for the robes. We had specifically asked to have 3 shelves in the robes but they have just put standard. We have already raised with the builder.. http://s1168.photobucket.com/user/Herin_Domadia/media/IMG_1835_zpstqzf6svt.jpg.html http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/IMG_1835_zpstqzf6svt.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/IMG_1839_zps2f5olzyi.jpg http://i1168.photobucket.com/albums/r489/Herin_Domadia/IMG_1842_zpshql0m1jc.jpg Happy with some updates on the house but hopefully the builder rectifies the issues. Just have one question i can't see the photos of the bricks so just wanted to know if you think its more brown or grey? Thanks! Hi Pearz, The bricks are more neutral color. Not too brown and not too grey. I think it is close to light chocolate color. Also the bricks color depends on the batch when they are made. It might sometime turn out to be more brown. Hope you find this helpful. Cheers arz, Y0u R tH3 Cr3@t0r 0f y0Ur 0Wn R3@L1ty Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 98Oct 17, 2016 7:45 pm surtees Hi psyherin how is it all progressing? Hope it is going well. Hi Surtees, long time mate. Havent been much on the forum, Just too stressed out with the builder and the time they are taking to finish the work. Short story, We have been given walkthrough date for end of this month so hoping they finish the work on time. We have to move out from the house we are currently renting as the landlord wants to sell the house so we had to give vacant notice. Have to organize for Fencing, Driveway & pathways, Security system. Falling short of time. Havent been to the house lately as I have just given up now with Site Supervisor and their excuses so dont have feel like going Anyways, hoping things go as per planned. Will be going through your post soon. Hope everything is working out for you guys . All the best. We are waiting on a fix up on our mortar so we arent sure of timing either. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: Building our first home with AHB in Tarneit 100Oct 18, 2016 7:46 am Yikes i can understand your stressed with all that going on... Will you find somewhere else to stay. That would be frustrating just for such a short timeframe. I was thinking about your house the otherday and how it looked so close to finished when you put the last photos up. Surely they cant have to much to do and they get it all done in time for your final walkthrough at the end of this month. Good luck So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27709 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA?
