Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Oct 12, 2015 4:03 pm I did post on propertychat, so may seem like a doubleup for those that frequent both forums. Wondering if adding in anticon to my new build (that insulation backed foil for the colourbond roofs) would be worth the $5,185 or so I"ve been quoted on a new build. Largely with the fact of it being intended as an investment property as the forseeable future. I "May" live in it once married in a few years, i may not. So I'm really torn on whether to throw it in to an investment property as my main concerns are money versus the benefit of lower maintenance, issues, or potential resale value down track? Supposedly some reckon most building inspectors would report on the 6 star energy rating achieved through ceiling batts etc and ignore the anti-con anyway, so it would be out of sight, out of mind in terms of financial return and provides more of noise, insulation etc. positives. So essentially an emotional/qualitative return not financial return. Unless it prevents moisture and maintenance issues in the long run? Can anyone input their advice on the matter? Did you go with anticon/additional foil backed insulation for your colourbond in addition to the standard ceiling batts? ANd most importantly did you do so as a home owner or as an investment property, with the latter being my main concern. Many thanks Yes i guess this is one of the main reason as i checked one post foundation 4 9994 Cheers. The painted render is a bit chalky to the touch.
