Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 09, 2016 5:54 pm Hey guys, I've been reading lots of peoples building experiences on here and thought it was time to share my own! We are pretty close to the end but its never to late to show you all. Let me know what you guys think So the whole process started a year ago today actually, and so far we have been pretty happy. We chose Aveling Homes based on a few different factors the main reason being the sales rep who was fantastic and is still going out of his way to help us (most first home buyers/first home builders know how daunting it is!) We purchased a 619 square meter corner block in the glades which is slightly odd in shape but fits our boat down the side perfectly. There are a few dates i cant remember for certain things but ill try my best. How have you found the journey so far? Still trying to figure out how to upload photos, so should have some up soon Re: Aveling Homes- First time builders 6Sep 09, 2016 11:10 pm emzz Hi Zoe, It's gone real quick the whole build cannot believe we will be in in about 6 weeks! See you can do photos now, hope you're busy loading more! Re: Aveling Homes- First time builders 8Sep 09, 2016 11:13 pm Like your feature tiles! Where did u go? What's your flooring? We have found Aveling to be great so far, touch wood, one minor issue in paperwork where I realised they'd move the house back a metre on the plan meaning we wouldn't have fitted the pool in. Other than that they've been great. We have a building inspector and a couple of minor things they've picked up have been rectified same day. Lucky to have a great site super. The flooring is just laminate, I really loved the look of the wood look tile but was so expensive. Have you been given a date yet? How have you found the build so far? Re: Aveling Homes- First time builders 15Sep 09, 2016 11:37 pm spuddles76 Yay for pics. Awesome selections. Thanks spuddles! I thought I did pretty well for my first go! The front got painted this week and I'm still not 100% sure on the feature colour! Re: Aveling Homes- First time builders 16Sep 09, 2016 11:39 pm The site super said this week that with no hold ups they'd be done end October and with some margin for error definitely by mid November. Hope so as I've now moved our floor installation date to November and the pool for end November! I'd love wood too but two dogs and two kids I'd be too stressed lol. So we have gone for vinyl plank. I'm trying to organise paving and fencing for the front as our block is quite wide like yours, and my partner keeps mentioning getting a boat 'in the future' so need to work out a hard stand for this 'possible boat' 😂. And soakwells before any of that. And also blinds. Argh. I don't feel organised, do you?! Aveling have been great Re: Aveling Homes- First time builders 19Sep 09, 2016 11:46 pm By the time you put in plants/garden etc, the blue won't be as noticeable Re: Aveling Homes- First time builders 20Sep 09, 2016 11:51 pm ZoePerth The site super said this week that with no hold ups they'd be done end October and with some margin for error definitely by mid November. I don't think I could wait till November, need to be in our own place ASAP! Yes it's pretty stressful trying to organise stuff to get done if you don't have a set date for when you'll have the keys! We have wood flooring at the moment and it's so scratch because of my dog. Hopefully the laminate holds up. We have a friend doing our gates so he is pretty flexible with us which is awesome, I hate being unorganised. We are wanting to pave down the back and side of our house and can order pavers yet which sucks because they have a sale on too! Haha oh yes the boat! We had to pick our land and have a house to fit the boat down the side behind gates! Partners orders! We will get a hard stand later down the track for that once everything else is done. We will be putting another fence or screening type thing behind the boat to hide it from our entertaining area. Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8936 So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27713 I would never build with Fowler homes.
