Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 29, 2014 9:23 am My partner and I had been looking at so many display homes, and even started the process with one of the big name builders to have it all fall over at the final stages (issues with the bank valuation because we were looking for higher than average ceilings, gloss floor tiles, additional concrete etc). After the sour taste left by this builder, we started our process again. We didn’t know what we wanted until we walked into Mimosa Homes, by now it was mid 2013. From the moment we walked in we realized this was exactly what we were looking for! The first person we me at display home was Geraldo who was not pushy and extremely helpful. He took us through our chosen home and then took us through another to explain demonstrate what was standard. We had already picked out our land and he quickly showed how it could be situated on our block. As we were a little gun shy after our previous experience, Geraldo suggested I meet with the team in the head office to put my fears at rest – what a great idea! Plans were put together in no time and the colour selection process was quick and unbelievably pain free. Maggie was a wealth of knowledge and gave great advice when I was stuck on a colour or design choice. I couldn’t believe that the high (2550) ceilings and glossy tiles I longed for were standard and the carpet quality was to die for. I also didn’t have any additional costs for the large pot drawers in the kitchen. When we had our bank valuation done for the loan, it came back $11k in our favour. We never had any communication problems and any queries I had were answered quickly. However, if there was a hold up for some reason, I still received an update advising when I could expect an answer. If I happened to turn up unannounced to double check a tile colour choice or to just ask a question, I was always greeted by name and made to feel valued. On my initial meeting at the head office, I was lucky enough to meet the sales manager (Matt) & the building supervisor (Andrew) who after looking at my plans, even suggested some changes that suit more and we welcomed his input and his professionalism. After our settlement date, we had a few cosmetic issues and still needed to have our water tank installed, however this was dealt with efficiently. We were lucky enough to have Alan, the Construction Manager visit after handover to ensure the issues we had mentioned had been followed through – a service I could not expect from a big named builder. We have only just moved into our home and could not be happier, I am so glad that we went with Mimosa Homes and would highly recommend them. We finally got our dream home and have (so far) no complaints with regards to the quality and finish. It was nice to feel we were not just another number in a big builder’s customer list and always treated with care and respect. Should you have any queries with regards to my experience please feel free to contact me via this website. Re: Mimosa Homes Review 2May 30, 2014 10:36 am What a wonderful good news story. We are building with them and so far the experience has been really good. Saying this the construction hasn't started yet, the bigger test will be the construction of the house. Have my finger crossed the experience remains the same. D Re: Mimosa Homes Review 6Mar 16, 2016 4:36 pm How is everyone's experience been with Mimosa? We have only just paid our deposit for the land and in the process of finalizing our floor plan From what I gathered, the package Mimosa offers is pretty good. And the customer service I receive from Tyler Lee is just amazing!!! I cant ask for a better consultant Goodluck and please share your experience Re: Mimosa Homes Review 7Jun 08, 2016 10:23 am Just wondering if anyone else have experience with Mimosa, from online research they seems pretty good in build quality. Their designs are good and customer service has been amazing. However, couple of people mentioned about bad experience with their build, so a bit confuse if i should consider any other builder or go with them?
