Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 27, 2015 10:19 pm I found that the brick manufacturer has the same brick colour with 2 different finishes: - Matte - Wirecut As I understand "Matte" is a kind of "painted" brick -- there is a relatively thin layer of coloured clay on the face of the brick, the rest of the brick is of usual colour of "red-brick" However "Wirecut" is supposed to be produced from fully coloured compound/clay, at least in display centre I saw that "wirecut" bricks looks as if it is done from material of the same colour. Am I right? What texture is more durable? My basic understanding is that small pieces of brick face could split off with time and as result spots of red-brick may appear on the wall, so may be Matte is less durable in this aspect.
