I am a sucker for timber features but you could easily get that with a timer deck at front door or planters. An exposed aggregate would pick up the Browns and greys. I would look at waiting until you have turfed to see if you need to actually do anything to the facade. Some nice pots etc. may be all you need to add more interest. I like the blue steel and klbs ideas of having exposed aggregate driveway. Timber cladding would also definitely go well as a feature. Once you get some garden in it will look completely different too. Versaloc is a mortarless besser block system that still needs a properly engineered footing.
