Building A New House

Not very good. I am just getting some work done at the moment but the house is 1 step forward 3 steps back. The "trades" that have worked on my house have done a very poor job and than I am having to chase the builder up to get the work repaired. I am having alot of rework to my ceilings and have had my ensuite shower tiles removed ready for the tiles to be redone.

I already met with them all about 2 weeks ago. The owner seems to genuinely want to get it sorted and get the build to finished. But dealing with others can be difficult. My problems now are more that there tradies have really let them down and done crap work. If they had decent trades my build would have been finished.

I moved in my house on June and it was good experience with this company. Slab went down in Nov last year . Had issue with Tiling but super had sorted out very quick. I have recommended them to my brother and he is happy so far.

Glad to hear someone is having a good experience. I have now had my ceilings painted and looks like electrical fit off has been done. The outside rendering looks to be a disaster ( different shades of colour and walls not flushed can see lines in between panels and where panels meet slab) so now will need that all fixed up aswell.

The ceilings have been painted resanded reflushed and repainted with a new product that should of hidden/fixed the flaws but it didnt work so can still see the lines where the ceilings were joined flushed.
Still waiting to get the render/texture coat fixed where you can see they havent prepped the walls properly and have lines up the walls where the panels joined. Where the outside walls meet the roof/eaves they use a peice of wood to cover the gap but where there is a bigger gap they just use a bigger peice of wood so I now have two different size peices of wood aroind the top of my walls.

DO NOT BUILD WITH CHOICELIVING!!
I'm having a ridiculously horrendous time dealing with this company, just to shed some light on the process, i've included the timeframe and the gist of the ordeal:
On top of all that, they tried to overcharge us for concrete :
Variation for concrete : I requested a justification from Choice as nothing has changed (in terms of site classification from when the contract was signed), after numerous back and forth email and a meeting with the MD, they've decided to raise this issue with their engineers, and TRUE ENOUGH there was no need for the additional concrete!!
It is abit of a long review but I am determined to let the public know how painful and time consuming the process have been with Choice thus far, and I sincerely hope no one has to go through this, especially at this economic climate when builders are desperate for jobs, go elsewhere, I'm sure there are builders who are able to build your home in record time + less headache.
Will continue to keep you updated.

Mario is definitely the most helpful of the lot, but at the end of the day, its very tiring to keep on bugging him to move things along when i'd assumed his staff know what they are doing. Anyways i wish you all the best with the house and fingers crossed it will be ready on the 28th as they promised!
