Hi all,
I am wondering if there is an earthworker on the forum that might be able to shed some light on this, or anyone else who is in the know.
My build will require a sandpit due to some clay on on the block.
I understand what a sand pad is for, however, my question is about the appropriate type of sand to be used for a sand pad.
From everything I have ever been told, you want the sand used to construct a sand pad to be as clay free as possible, so I am talking like the grey/white sand.
However, I have seen a few builds on these forums where people require sand pad and the builders all seem to use yellow bricks sand, which I was under the impression had a relatively high clay content, exceeding 18%.
It makes sense that you would want a low clay content, otherwise, why build a sand pad to abstract from the clay?
Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks!
