Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 19, 2015 9:29 pm Hi all, My prestart next thurs and only got told of the crosby tiles showroom on friday so i raced in today to scout tiles out beforehand. To say i was over whelmed by choice and colour would be an understatement. Does anyone have tips and tricks on colour matching?? I have to choose laminates (vanity top) and cupboard doors laminate, floor tiling for wc, ensuite and bathrooms etc. Only main tiling is done through imported ceramics (450 x 450s) floor tiling has 300x 300 and 200x200 options. Wall tiling is 400 x 200 (with feature tile strips available) or 200x 200 options (with a feature strip tile also). If people could share their tips and tricks so i dont pull out my hair id appreciate it. The crosby tiles lady reckons one should pair vanity and cupboard doors together and choose contrasting, and for wall tiling in the shower have tile 1 and tile 2 contrast. Meanwhile all should somehow tie back to colours in the bathroom tiles. So far i went more the greys style tiles. Thinking go a light style formic vanity which will allow glossy or matt wood like styles cupboards. Then white tiles on shower wall with one wall(shower head wall?) a darker 2nd tile. Almost like a feature tile but just a second colour. It'll be rented out so do any colours of tiles or grout help this? Hide dirt or stains or bad tenants cleaning? Walls will probably go neutral tones, creams, light greys to partial tones white. Nothing personalised or coloured. Did most people leave tile choice to prestart?? Any tips would be appreciated. Thinking high wearing loop carpet. Perhaps ash grey or more grey than cream light colours as trevors carpets reckons for a rental you notice less dirt and will make a light neutral tone wall room look big I Re: Tiles and laminate - colour matching tips and tricks 2Sep 19, 2015 10:00 pm The staff at Crosby Tiles are really helpful so don't stress too much. We went in with absolutely no idea what we wanted, but once there we started playing with colours and mixing and matching until we were happy. It's a really fun process, we spent a couple of hours there!
