Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 09, 2015 8:45 pm Hi, Putting our package together for our first home build. We have had mixed messages regarding interior painting. Some places have suggested including the painting as part of the package. While others have said no, its something that should be done afterwards. Is painting something that would just delay the process or what does everyone recommend? Re: Putting the package together - Paint 2Sep 09, 2015 8:49 pm We could have had painting included but decided against it as we think we can do it for much cheaper than they're quoting. But now we are getting closer to moving in, I wish we had of included it, as I'm not looking forward to doing h the painting ourselves now lol. So it's one of those things, either be prepared to pay a little more for them to do it, or be prepare to go through the pain of doing it yourself to save a few bucks My topic thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=76249&start=20#p1316378 Re: Putting the package together - Paint 3Sep 11, 2015 1:39 pm Hearny87 Hi, Putting our package together for our first home build. Get it over and done with the builder. Then their liability and will be quicker. Also should be done before carpet etc... DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you doing this with a building permit? Conversion of a non habitable room into a habitable room requires building permit. 3 17405 Thankyou so much 😀 I've decided on White on white for doors and trims, White on white 50% on ceiling and Mt buller for walls. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7294 Thank you. That is really helpful. Once we get the place done and passed for OC we can upgrade in the future once we get back on our feet and not paying mortgage and rent. 4 5871 |
