Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Should I complain to Building Commission or not? 61Jul 14, 2008 4:43 pm Perhaps you could offer to record the meeting on a digital voice recorder or even a video camera? Re: Should I complain to Building Commission or not? 62Jul 14, 2008 4:43 pm Yikes!!! I've got my second Tender appointment tomorrow with H3nley. This is VERY concerning, and if it's ok with you, I'm going to raise this as a *serious* concern which is going to impact whether we decide to proceed further. If this is how they treat their existing customers, how can they expect to sign-up new customers like me.
Very worrying indeed...... This is VERY concerning, and if it's ok with you, I'm going to raise this as a *serious* concern which is going to impact whether we decide to proceed further. If this is how they treat their existing customers, how can they expect to sign-up new customers like me. Very worrying indeed...... E I have my contract appointment with the big H in a few weeks time. As far as I know, they (H) are not aware that I have a blog. I will be letting them know I do at our contract signing, and I have already let them know I am getting in an independant inspector. Throughout the Sales and Tender process I have nothing but praise for them. They have been wonderful and very accommodating, and any issues I have had have been dealt with promptly and 100% to my satisfaction. I am so hoping that things will continue for us this way, but I am not expecting it to! ANY build can run into problems. At my contract signing I would like to take pics from Houman's blog (if he will let me!), and ask them what they will do to ensure that my home will not look like this. We are paying them a **** load of money, and I want it to look just like the display home, and to be structurally sound for 30 years...that's how long we plan on staying in it. I don't want to have to sell it because it's crap. We are demolishing our first home and building on our block because we love the area. I am lucky that I will be driving past 4 times a day, and will most likely drop in twice. I will always have my camera and a note book with me to jot down anything that may be of a concern and raise these directly with my SS, not the subbies. Houman, I am so deeply sorry to read of your plight. I have been following your blog for several months, and everytime I'd read a new post my heart would sink deeper and deeper. It's just not fair. I still cannot image why the subbies did such an atrocious job on the slab...yet it would have to have been passed by H's 'so called' quality control in order to advance to the frame stage (is that right? Still a build newbie!). I wish you the very best of luck, and I hope this gets sorted out ASAP to YOUR satisfaction. It's YOUR money, and it's YOUR home. I doubt THEY would personally accept THEIR house if it were built like this... Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! I've read your blog too and it seems like you have been waiting a long time to get to this stage again. Will be interested to see what H says when you bring up Houman's story, H2B Happy at Home Re: Should I complain to Building Commission or not? 70Jul 14, 2008 8:22 pm Thanks Stormy, I am sure they don't want to make the same mistake with a stormy Girl...lol...
Off course you are more than welcome to take as I am sure they all have seen the blog. I will also add you to my blog's short cut and top of the list. Re: Should I complain to Building Commission or not? 74Jul 15, 2008 2:31 pm A good thing happen today, I got a phone call from one of the Directors of H3nley, which very patiently listened to me, gave me his mobile number, and was saying that I will get something out of Thursday's meeting since the person I am meeting is very good at solving problems.
So fingers crossed, maybe even my project gets back on track..... Re: Should I complain to Building Commission or not? 76Jul 15, 2008 2:51 pm Good new htarash, hope he sticks to his word. Good Luck. Re: Should I complain to Building Commission or not? 80Jul 17, 2008 7:34 pm I thought I update you all,
had the meeting, the summary that within the next approx. 6-7 weeks I will get the house and when I bring my inspector, there will not be any defect. There has been some more grinding and filling, which I have informed H3nley I will not sign the hand over paper until I will get an engineering report that the slab is still structurally sounds OK. Also I did propose that they come up with solution and suggestion, when there are further cracks on the walls how H3nley is going to fix it, so I am waiting for their reply. In General I think the meeting was positive, but I can only confirm it in the next week or two when I see actions and fixing happening in a right way. Off course there were few other discussions and points which i rather not put it to the public (Sorry all, I hope you will get my points, why I can not) I've decided, after a period of confusion (my building broker told me it's probably not worth it to use a lawyer, but others have said it is a must) that I definitely will… 7 28070 i imagine you also have another contract with an architect? and yeah, whatever other's said about special conditions and appendices 16 16301 hey there! 😊 so, it’s kinda common for standard drawer depths to be around 500mm since most cabinets use this size to fit the usual runners… 3 21191 |
