Make sure you have cover for future cracks

Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Should I complain to Building Commission or not? 84Jul 22, 2008 8:08 pm ![]() I have asked them for an official engineering report saying that cutting the slab to get things right is still with in standard and it does not effect the house. In some points we had about 25 mm diffrence in height in a length of 75cm. So far no reply with the report, only YES, WE WILL DO IT. When I talked to BACV, they also did say to make sure that we get everything right, since Taylors hill is a very rocky area and the slab in that area is extremly important. Do you know what classification the soil test came back with? That may explain the cracking if the slab isnt right. Re: Should I complain to Building Commission or not? 87Aug 07, 2008 1:42 pm Hi everyone, I thought I will update you all.
Seems like, things have started moving along, The slab work has been done, there are still points that I am not happy with, which have been addressed to our builder. A lot of Plasters came out of the walls, the frame was fixed and new plaster went up again. The big sliding door has been replaced. The fixing Carpenter is due tomorrow to fix the remaining points. There are still lot of walls that I am not happy with, which I have a meeting with our Construction Manager tomorrow and I will address them, and see when they are going to be fixed. The heating system ducts seems to be installed, I can not actually check if the unit has been installed yet or not. Still do not have a firm completion day, but from the verbal estimate of 6-7 weeks, now we have 4 weeks left. Off course I am still waiting for the engineering reports, which I hope will be soon. Good things, Things are moving along, but slowly. Bad things, still a lot of points that needs to fixed/completed More updates to follow.
