Browse Forums Building A New House Re: New Gen build - Landsdale WA 21Oct 26, 2015 12:08 pm I think that is strange that it doesn't include the latest changes. I would be querying that. Whatever you want on finance, I would put in the contact and whatever you want to pay cash I would do at pre-start. New Gen build - Landsdale WA 22Oct 26, 2015 12:26 pm jpmontoya Bit of late update everyone We have just received drafted plans and contracts to sign It doesnt include latest changes that we requested.. how do we go about ? We also want to go with hobless showers, should we be requesting them before we sign contracts or this can be done at prestart stage ? Cheers If you can get them to quote up as much as you can before signing you will probably get a finer price because they still technically haven't won your business, once you've signed they can really quote what they want - we had everything priced up front so that when we went to prestart we literally just chose colours less surprises ! Re: New Gen build - Landsdale WA 24Oct 26, 2015 12:58 pm Don't let them pressure you to sign I just kept making lists of stuff I wanted to add or upgrade and then would email the poor rep for prices on it all let them think you are tossing up between builders too, we asked for a $5k discount before signing and got it there's always room to move Re: New Gen build - Landsdale WA 25Oct 26, 2015 1:01 pm mandy+steve Don't let them pressure you to sign I just kept making lists of stuff I wanted to add or upgrade and then would email the poor rep for prices on it all let them think you are tossing up between builders too, we asked for a $5k discount before signing and got it there's always room to move Ah great.. mind you in our case we have signed PPA.. so i take it that it makes no difference Re: New Gen build - Landsdale WA 26Oct 26, 2015 9:28 pm I think you have to tell them you want hobless showers as it affects the slab pour in the bathrooms or that's what we were told. Re: New Gen build - Landsdale WA 27Oct 26, 2015 9:35 pm Petad I think you have to tell them you want hobless showers as it affects the slab pour in the bathrooms or that's what we were told. Thanks Yep I am making a note of the things now.. this is what happens when u do very little research Re: New Gen build - Landsdale WA 28Oct 26, 2015 9:47 pm This forum is very helpful always ask questions and someone will know the answer Re: New Gen build - Landsdale WA 29Oct 26, 2015 9:59 pm Yeah the shower recess will be lower than the slab, but as Mandy says, price everything and don't accept the "wait for prestart' response if you are uncomfortable with it. Untill you sign the building contract you are free to chose builders with only losing your PPA deposit. Also remember, if it isn't in black and white it doesn't exist, so get everything in writing. Re: New Gen build - Landsdale WA 30Oct 31, 2015 11:10 pm Love your plans Jpmontoya. Love the his and hers WIR too, they are huge! The semi ensuite is a good size, you wouldn't want it too be too small either. I agree with everyone else, get everything priced up and included in the contract then you won't have a huge surprise at prestart as it would just be the smaller upgrades. Our sales consultant was very good, I sent him lots of emails and requests for quotes and he priced everything for us, even after signing PPA. When are your titles due? Ours were six months away when we signed PPA so we used that time to do all the research before signing contracts.
