Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Build with ClearView Homes -Plumpton VIC 181Sep 14, 2016 5:51 am Nice house! Love the colour selection. We are about to take a corner block with side driveway so need to do custom design and really love Clearview finishes. Just wondering, with you builder's delay, was there in a contract about liquidated damages if they delay the practical completion/handover date? Just trying to see how we can avoid the delay by smaller builder. Thanks ? Re: Our Build with ClearView Homes -Plumpton VIC 182Sep 14, 2016 7:00 am Yes i did have bad experience with head office. But their GM and business manager called to appologies. The consultant has also changed on my file. Their price and inclusions are good as well as compared to other builders. I went to master builder but they take about 4-5 month to get to site and then about 7m to complete build. Considering land already settled it is not that convenient. Just wondering, with you builder's delay, was there in a contract about liquidated damages if they delay the practical completion/handover date? Just trying to see how we can avoid the delay by smaller builder. Thanks ? Hi! Yes but the contract said 365 days! We asked why it's such a long period and we were assured it's just the 'standard' thing to put in the contract and it won't take that long as they won't be making money if the delay was that long.. so we signed it. Maybe see if they will reduce that period. Having said that, we started our build in Oct last year, so there was a month off for the Xmas holiday. Also, some of the delay was from us picking up mistakes and making them re-do it. Their finishing is good, but attention to detail wasn't that great due to one supervisor doing all jobs. Alot of mistakes could've been avoided if they followed the plan eg mixers on the wrong wall etc Our First Build viewtopic.php?t=79716 Re: Our Build with ClearView Homes -Plumpton VIC 185Sep 14, 2016 8:17 pm jmasood Yes i did have bad experience with head office. That's good to hear that they called to apologize. Seems like they're fixing all the issues. Good luck with your build! There are some good and bad experiences online, but majority are good. I am going to give them a chance to see how it goes. Here is my thread. I will keep you guys posted: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=83715&start=40 Re: Our Build with ClearView Homes -Plumpton VIC 187Sep 14, 2016 9:06 pm jmasood Ya. Not yet Jai. We've done the crushed rocks and pavers on one side. And been meaning to book a concreter to do the other side of the house. But the backyward will be a job for the Christmas holiday! How about you? Re: Our Build with ClearView Homes -Plumpton VIC 195Dec 08, 2016 7:50 pm Same here. Got the land levelled and did crushed rocks. Ordered Pergola from statco and waiting for permits, handyman and landscapers are all busy to take any jobs. Mostly i will get things done early next year.
