Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Build with ClearView Homes -Plumpton VIC 162Jun 15, 2016 9:14 pm Hey Jai. CVH is actually only installing the fan. We didn't want to pay for them to install the lights. My bf knows a sparky who will put in the pendants for us, which is a bit easier than the outdoor fan I think. Was supposed to have our handover last Thu. Then it got moved to this Monday but the BF went by the house last week and noticed quite a few things that need fixing so we moved the handover date. Saw this front garden and was pretty annoyed as it looks nothing like the plan we originally got with the quote. No pavers no grass and no foothpath. Very rushed job. Good luck with t your handover. Just look for duct alignments etc. Make sure you lock all the lockable doors to make sure it is locking. Make sure the flush is working as expected. Check for water spots from cleaning above garage door internally and externally. I asked for exhaust fan to be ducted through the roof. It wasn't done and I couldn't check as the covers were on and I was told that its done. I had to open the cover to findout its not. Will definitely need to check everything carefully. There's already a few chips etc that we asked them to fix. Garden is done but we still have no updates on handover date. Our First Build viewtopic.php?t=79716 Good. I just didn't get a chance to pick things up as I was denied access (my requests went unanswered) intentionally. Now I'm raising issues and they are coming to fix, but it's a pain really to organise and wait for them to come and fix during the work days Re: Our Build with ClearView Homes -Plumpton VIC 168Jul 08, 2016 8:41 pm We said we must have a pre-inspection before handover. And they know we're bringing an inspector with us. So hopefully everything is sorted before handover. Like you said, I don't want to wait around and wait for them to come and fix things. Didn't actually take any photos as we didn't have time. Went by before to start moving small things into the garage. There's still a few things ClearView will need to come out to fix like one of the window winder isn't fixed in properly. A small part of the kitchen island stone bench needs to be polished etc. But very excited to move in over the weekend nonetheless! Fridge and microwave will be delivered this Wed. Then the dining table, dining chairs, bar stools, coffee table, TV unit and hallway table will be delivered early next week. How big was the house and quote? What you suggest about the build experience. I am considering Mimosa going with standard design because of good price and a lot of good inclusions already in price. Hi! It's a 27.2 square house. Quote was at $240k including our upgrades etc but we then had to pay extra because less than half our land was in the bushfire zone. Then paid extra for a different slab. Ended up at $260k. The downside to our build experience was the build time. We were told on average it'll take 4.5 - 5 months. But it took us 10 months. Upside was we went with a small builder who also did custom build so we went in with the floorplan we wanted. We were also able to negotiate alot of extras. I thought you were having a bad experience with Mimosa so far? Not too sure what they will be like as a builder. We originally thought about going with Mimosa, but just asking for a quote was a task in itself so we changed our minds. We went to 3 different Mimosa show home/sales office and asked for someone to contact us to discuss further and no one ever contacted us! What are some of their inclusions? Thanks! Haha. There's a TV up on that feature wall now. We haven't taken more photos yet as we're away on holiday. Only been in our house for a month and we're away for a month! So we haven't connected our NBN yet so no data to upload photos! Also, we haven't installed our pendant lights or bought any decorative pieces for the house. Seems like alot of people on here get to that stage alot faster than us. Although, we also had to save for our holiday. Will upload more photos once we're back from our holiday next month.
