Clarendon have a knack of building slow, no better than my example. They do a reasonable job, but slow..
Expect the frame to get wet for 3-6 months far exceeding any other builder.

From the day we walked in the door saying "build us a house" till completion it was 1 year 11 months . Whilst we have had a pretty disheartening time with it all (read NIGHTMARE) i am pretty surprised at how quickly others building with the company have been.
Maybe they are the lucky few???? Or maybe the company is starting to realise that the service they have been offering their customers until now has been of a sub-standard level. We are now in the hands of the maintenance office...and can only hope that this experience gets better. Good luck with your build lobo, i hope that when you finally get your home you can move in and enjoy, and forget the pain it took to get there Re: Sydney's Slowest Builder - Still Slow 63Mar 17, 2009 9:20 pm 2 years ???
You poor things...........that's just simply unforgiveable !! Maybe they had improved? Re: Sydney's Slowest Builder - Still Slow 65Mar 26, 2009 5:32 pm I sent my maintenance list in just on 2 weeks ago - to my surprise (and delight), the plumber turned up unannounced within 4 days and fixed his issue. No word on anything else yet, but fortunately, there is nothing urgent and they are all minor things we can live with (or fix ourselves) I vow to NEVER AGAIN stress over C I just want to let everyone know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel - those long, dark days are now thankfully fading from memory. I LOVE our house Built a Clarendon 'Balmain' 2008 Re: 66Mar 26, 2009 5:39 pm Flissfloss Hi guys, We just got the keys to our Cl@rendon home. Now tackling the HUGE task of the Garden- viewtopic.php?f=31&t=14782 Re: 67Mar 26, 2009 6:52 pm stevep79 Our neighbour is about to build with C, we received the neighbour notification 2-3 weeks back. We're due to go to council in the next week or so, gonna be interesting to see if we actually beat them to completion haha that's not fair... totally one sided contest. We're due to go to council in the next week or so, gonna be interesting to see if we actually beat them to completion thats right, they are slow, however i have seen them work a bit quicker of late at least on other projects. They had too many jobs and lower work load seems to have done the C customers some good ! btw its becoming harder to get photos after my ss told me not to go in to the site ! Built the Eden Brae Cambridge 34 Family with Boston Corner Facade Re: Sydney's Slowest Builder - Still Slow 70Mar 26, 2009 9:22 pm There has to be a common thread like in these forums with the titles "A Nightmare on a building a new house" etc. "If they were going any faster, they would be going backwards" Although, I have learnt a lot from your stories over the past few months! EDIT: Just read the posts on the notifications! Seems like the 10 day tick & flick approval in NSW is in place. Might just be that C have problems in Sydney and not in other states. I just hope they can cope with the rush as the $24k offer expires at the end of this financial year. Re: Sydney's Slowest Builder - Still Slow 71Mar 26, 2009 9:41 pm Hi mellybuilding! we actually havent moved in to our house yet crazy i know, but we have had our lovely timber floors sitting in there getting used to the surrounds hehehe!. They have just been laid today and look great. We have only had a few issues with the quality of our house, and most are in the process of being fixed. When we put in our 3 mth maintenance list i will let you know the outcome! Good luck with your build 10 15744 |
