Thanks pinghenz - when I told people about it all being light in colour a few people looked concerned - but I love it!!! And in the end - that's all that matters.

Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 43Jan 03, 2016 6:02 pm This is all so beautiful ??We are using white weatherboard cladding and pale bricks too, so it's great to see how it looks! I love, love ,love your tiles. I wish I had been so brave when choosing our colours Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 44Jan 05, 2016 4:06 pm Thanks Saint Girl. I am glad I took the plunge with the tiles - I love them. I'm sure your "white house" will look fab too!!! Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 45Jan 09, 2016 9:11 am We are going to build Airlie38 as well and just did colour selection. We decided to upgrade the staircase to vic as timber. Really looking forward to seeing more pictures of your beautiful home, especially staircase, as there are very limited info about the staircase. Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 46Jan 09, 2016 10:25 am Wow beautiful home you have so far! I really like your kitchen layout, and looking for ours to be designed similar, just wondering what the dimensions of your island are? What kind of bench are you having? Looking forward to updates Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 47Jan 11, 2016 9:14 pm Congrats on colours pinghenz - I'm not sure when the stairs get stained, but I'll definitely take a photo for you. But the timber looks amazing, and I know that for sure as the wrong stairs were initially put in. And yes, I agree - very limited info on stair options. Hi meshelf - I LOVE our kitchen!!! And I think it will be even better with the stone on and flooring done (hopefully that all happens within a fortnight) We are having 40mm stone benches on the island in Frosty Carrina (CAT 3). The bench is 3m long x 1.5m in width. No waterfall edges. Hope that helps - and I look forward to your updates!!! (I'll post some new pictures soon - when I have some.) Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 48Jan 11, 2016 9:36 pm So I finally decided to start shopping!!! This step has made it all feel a little more real, and made me super excited to turn that key!!! So what did I buy new (I wish everything), but furnishing the house is going to be a l-o-n-g process. Is a driveway really THAT important - I've found a nice dining pendant. Lol. My Boxing Day spree consists of: - New towels (had the same ones since we married almost 8 years ago) - New KING sized bed frame and mattress - King sized sheets (still need a Doona and cover. Hubby didn't realise that when he agreed to a new bed, we would need to sell a kidney and some to cover it. Lol) - a new couch (who knew I would change my mind 100 million times on the colour) By the way - it's Grey not charcoal as originally planned. - pendants for our bedroom - pendants for the kitchen island - feature lights for the facade. (Picked white, then black, then white and now black again) Not sure when I became so indecisive. - blinds - and plantation shutters (ordered a couple of weeks ago) Here are some pictures: Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Grain pendant by Muuto - island bench Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Front entry - Beacon Lighting Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Bed frame - Dane from Domayne Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Couch - From Freedom. Reading your post made me laugh because I know I will be the exactly the same! Thanks you that's a great size island bench! I looked up Frosty Carina, it's lovely. I like Calcutta Nuvo too, after seeing it pop up a few times on Instagram. Apparently it's more expensive than standard but not sure what builders charger in SA for it as yet. I'll start a thread once feel like have something to show waiting on changes to our plans. Just had a look at your shopping spree, all looked great. We are hanging out to get a new bed but trying to wait until we move!!! Can't wait but at the same time think will also be indecisive with making a choice as that's what I'm like ha! Look forward to seeing pics of your bench and floor going it. All looks amazing so far! Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 51Jan 12, 2016 9:47 pm Sorry meshelf - our bench is actually 1.2m wide, not 1.5m as I said. Saint Girl and Meshelf - I still question my choices. I see a picture on Instagram and love it and think, "perfect - I'll do that too" , then see another picture and think the same, but it's a completely different style!!! There are so many great things around, another reason why I'm glad we waited to purchase things as the trends change so quickly at the moment. Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 52Jan 13, 2016 10:11 am That's ok, thanks for letting me know. Ours can fit about 1m hope that is ok to fit some stools. I know it's a a bit tricky with trends and choice, think it's best to go what you love! Trends are changing all the time. White kitchens are pretty classic. That is what we have at our home at the moment, had our house evaluated a while ago. The agent was surprised when I said the kitchen was five years old, he thought it was around one! Do you mind me asking what the CAT means? I am assuming that the Frosty Carrina was an upgrade in category? Compared to a different choice in Ceaserstone? Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 53Jan 13, 2016 10:16 am Yes CAT means Category. The base price of a volume builder includes Category 1 selections. Everything you select outside of that is an upgrade - and thus a higher category (which equals more $$$$) I choose a white kitchen for the same reason you said - it doesn't date. (And I love them) Blog: www.dapplegrey.com.au Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 54Jan 13, 2016 6:39 pm Thank you I was pretty sure that is what it meant. Our first quote said "20mm ceaserstone to kitchen as designed" but wonder what type it is, guess the lower one. Will need to ask! I love white too look forward to seeing pics updates when your bench goes in! Re: Building with Boutique Homes Victoria - Airlie 38 55Jan 13, 2016 6:59 pm I just posted this in the main Boutique thread, so sorry for the double post, but our security fencing is gone. Sorry if I've already asked - but where are you building your Airlie 38? What changes have you made, I'm always interested to see what others come up with. Hubby just sent me a pic - our bench tops are in ??? So excited, and can't wait to see them.
