Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 03, 2015 11:42 am Hi, Our land title is going to be released next month, we have chosen the builder but not yet signed the contract. My husband is worried about having problem with the contract because the builder is charging as 6k for the build start delay (3k for every 3months) this is due to the delay of our land title release. Now, as a back up plan, we are looking for another builder just in case our contract with the first builder didn't push through. We are looking for a home builder who uses brick all over the house which means no light weight materials (i.e rendered foam and the like). Does anybody here can recommend a builder? We are building at South East Victoria. Thanks. Re: All brick house 2Sep 03, 2015 12:40 pm I didn't really understand your delay.. some builders do charge for each month you are delayed. But I wouldn't not sign with one because of it.. Um, good builders.. I'm sure most build with bricks if that's what you want, they only do the render and such if you ask for it, and because most estates require it. My builder is in that area, they are great small local builder called CDA Constructions Re: All brick house 4Sep 16, 2015 3:21 pm Most builders will build 'all brick' if that is what you want. You just choose all brick rather than anything else when you do your selections. These days, most estates do require the front facade of the house to have at least two finishes - brick and render, brick and tile, etc as part of the estate requirements/conditions, which is why most builders do this. If you don't have this estate requirement then you can do what you want, and just tell the builder what you want. We didn't want any render, but we do have to have two finishes on our facade, so we are going all brick but having our front pillars tiled.
