Browse Forums Building A New House Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 21Sep 22, 2015 1:05 pm Congratulations on finding your block. Gosh they make you wait a long time for titles! hope it goes quickly for you! Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 22Sep 22, 2015 1:13 pm My wedding is in November so I'm hoping that takes my mind off the wait for the next 10 weeks. Initially it was the buying of the land and getting the plans drawn up that was taking my mind of the stress of planning a wedding! Once I have the plans back from Redink I will post. Bring on April! Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 23Oct 22, 2015 6:51 pm Did anyone have issue with the drafting of their house in that the roof line showed a little point because of the different course levels of the house? Ours looks like there will be a little "nipple" poking out the top of the house sorry that's the only thing I can reference it to. It looks stupid to be honest and I'm not really happy with the drafting stage so far... Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 24Dec 05, 2015 9:14 pm Finally got my plans now! A little different from the original but kinda want it to be our original design so I have decided not to post a pic. Titles due in April, pad needs to be down by May to avoid delayed titles... :/ Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 25Jan 26, 2016 8:50 pm Hi Teresa22, i m Teresa too We also build with Redink, a little bit ahead of you. We currently waiting for roof colorbond to be delivered then we will officially have a roof...hopefully by end of this week or early next. do you have any updates on your plan since December? Things are happening pretty quickly nowadays I think, no shortage on tradies or supplies, so i am sure your build will start to take shape very soon. Look forward to more updates from you! We get titles in March so far so hopefully we will have the slab down soon! I am so excited I just can't wait to be in our new home. We had prestart last month but we have a final meeting with Redink in the next few weeks so hopefully the ball will start rolling soon Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 27Jan 26, 2016 11:50 pm very interesting that you are really doing it backwards and had your prestart and final plan before title, very interesting indeed the good thing is that you have plenty of time to work on the plan so by the time you get the title, your plan will be perfect! Our Redink build: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=81681 Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 28Jan 27, 2016 10:42 am Yes we are doing it backwards. They say that once titles occur everything will be much quicker than normal, we started in July last year so its just the chopping and changing of the interior that is happening now. We were originally going tiled floors and white kitchen with black benchtop, but I wanted a country look so we are now going rustic floorboards, white cabinets and white tops with a soft paint colour (TBC). I have already started buying magazines and looking at furniture too because we are moving from a 90m2 house into a 250m2 house Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 29Jan 27, 2016 9:24 pm Wow you definitely know what you want! Can't wait to see some photos of your selections. I am interested to know how long other people in this area waited.. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 31Mar 20, 2016 12:15 am Hi Teresa We are in Byford on an acre and our shire approval only took 4 weeks. But that was a year ago now. Still not in our house. We build with home group. Shelley. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 32Mar 20, 2016 7:59 am Congrats on titles i hope the approvals dont take 3 months. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 33Mar 20, 2016 9:31 am Thanks yeh was pretty excited thinking I might have pad down next month but it just seems to be a whole lot of waiting.. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 34Mar 21, 2016 6:24 pm Oh god the prestart lady at redink is driving me nuts. Said it would take 3 months for council approval, then we called the council who confirmed that they pulled out our file and it is already approved with the stamp and everything, and all they need is a final decision on the atu and then a building permit will be issued in 10 days. So we go back to redink and they say we must be wrong and gave us the name of the lady at the council and when we call they say there is little point in speaking direct with her because she was in planning and our file has been moved up to building stage. I so can't wait to move on so we don't have to deal with this person anymore. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 35Mar 21, 2016 8:26 pm Now I feel like an idiot redink were right we do still need to wait. The Shire gave us the details for the wrong block.😞 Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 37Mar 23, 2016 6:27 pm Thank you 😊 yeh site works are the killer. I would anticipate at least 20k up to 60k. Ours is 30k. Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 39Apr 19, 2016 12:15 pm Smurf1220 How is everything going with the shire approval? Hi Smurf its still with the coucil, because of the stuff up they are rushing it through for us, so hoping this week or next. Then it can all begin!! I am so super excited Re: My build in Serpentine with Redink! 40Apr 19, 2016 1:08 pm Hope it comes through quickly it's exciting seeing thing happen. Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17581 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 10410 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9563 |
