Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Aug 29, 2015 9:41 pm Hi, I am building in Blacktown council area. My builder put the road opening permit application however it has been refused as the distance between driveway and tree was not 1.6 meter which is a minimum distance required. My lot is narrow at the front and wide at the back and also there is storm water grate hence we can't relocate tree as well. Has anyone dealt with council regarding road opening permit and can advise who will be the best person in council to find out whether we can remove the council tree? My builder's draftsman has started working for them just couple of weeks ago and every time he is getting different information from council. On the street there are only 5 lots and mine one is the middle one. On the right side of my lot there is only one tree and on the left side there are 4 including the one on my lot. My neighbors lot is wider than mine and there is no tree at all. Any info or advice much appreciated about the removal of council tree as my CDC is pending for the road opening permit approval. Thanks. http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah191/mansawant/Front%20of%20the%20lot_zpsrdlkwk3j.png http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah191/mansawant/Right%20side%20of%20the%20road_zps8erclxac.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah191/mansawant/Left%20side%20of%20the%20road_zpsmzemylkx.jpg Re: Blacktown Council - Road opening permit - rejected 2Aug 30, 2015 8:40 am I had a similar problem (in another council area) with a tree that was not really established similar to this tree. Before I talked to the council I turned up one day, wearing a high visibility vest, and moved the tree a couple of m . As the council have already checked the site it may be more politically safe to ask about relocating the tree. The Harder You Try - the Luckier You Get ! Re: Blacktown Council - Road opening permit - rejected 3Aug 30, 2015 9:00 am Had a similar issue ourselves, driveway plan rejected initially due to proximity of tree, had to be 2 metre gap. Tree has to be taken out not relocated and a new one planted complete with appropriate root barrier. Haven't done this yet due to not being up to driveway pour. Had another issue with privacy screens as well. Can you get someone from the council to your block? This can work if they see the logistics for themselves, worked for us with privacy screen issue Custom build Northern NSW viewtopic.php?f=31&t=72217 Re: Blacktown Council - Road opening permit - rejected 4Aug 30, 2015 9:33 am my brother had a similar problem and "a garbage collector or builders truck must have accidentally driven over tree" when we get new tree can we have it in a better spot I brought terry road box hill in June 2022 House was meant to be completed Nov 2023 That did not happen I had to chase them so much to the land Registration and… 0 2403 Looking to start the journey of becoming an owner builder in SA.
